Assembled MTB

Just finished assembly of my 5th mountain bike. I got the frame and shock with handle bar in exchange with one of my Japanese commuter bike.
Transfered other parts from my Peugeot MTB. (Sold)

Mang Boy, you sent the frame for chroming?! What kind of place did that for you?

The Bridgestone Travzone came with the frame painted as previusly posted. Beneath the paint was a chromed finish frame. After adapting stripsol paint remover the chromed finishing came out. The only exception to the chrome is the fork which I had chromed in one of the metal finishing shops here. I'm just waiting for the new set of tires to come in this last week of December which my Japanese friend will be bringing.

That frame seems to be a copy of the Raleigh 'Chopper' a popular kids bike in the 70's and 80's, a bit of a cult classic these days.

Thanks for the info. I just surf the Raleigh site and found that it was a copy of the Chopper. Anyway, I just had the frame and it will take a time before I start sourcing for the other parts.

Bikes: brigestone 27" 6spd

Hello mang boy,

chimmy ramos here. I would like to ask where i can buy the red led tail lights ? And how much they cost.

Thanks

i hope to meet you at the next jitensha show in, feb. Hopefully. If not i hope i can visit your collection one of these days.

P.s. I was in the japan surplus shop in buendia cor taft; inside the tall building. There was a 27" bridgestone albelt aluminum, it was 3 speed, dark brown metallic, with shimano igh w/led headlamps. 3speed nexus hub, integrated steering and rear wheel lock . It was it great shape . It was unfortunately already sold for p5k.

Chimmy, the LED Light cost from P190 - P230. I give the guy who sources this light for me for P250. So far the light is out of stock. I'll inform you once the light is available. This light is Taiwan made. More durable than the China made LED lights. Check out the bike shops, they may still be available. I refrain visiting shops cause I end up buying other things. BTW this light is a look alike of the US made Vista-Lite which I used to buy years ago. The Malabon bicycle show might be this March as relayed to me by the sponsor.

In fact there are shops that trade them including parts & accessories. Internal Gear Hubs are available for those bicycles without them. Perhaps Malabon City is where you can see a big population of cyclists using Japanese bicycles. Most of these bicycles are fully hop-up and customized. Visit our city ang be amazed of how we convert used bicycles to new looks and performance.

Superb pictures! I love the fact that the only one in racing clothes is the oldest guy there. If you see him again, tell him he looks fantastic!

If Filipinos love bikes as much as they do in these pictures, I love Filipino culture.

Hello Tom, the guy you are referring to is my friend, Tateng. He is 61 yrs. old and very active on fun rides. He rides a custom made stainless framed bicycle. He owns 2 custom stainless framed bicycles made by Olan Valeriano. The wheel size is 20. The reason he is used to be in cycling attire is that he rides with MTBs & racer bikes. For commuter bicycle riders, they just simply wear shorts and casual shirts. For me and my son Marc we sometimes wear cycling shorts but the helmet is a must for the two of us specially when cycling outside of our city.

Tateng the "King"
