Started commuting
Well I can honestly say I never thought commuting to work on my bike (07 Giant ocr2) would be so rewarding. I have started riding once a week to and from work. I am a Firefighter/Paramedic and work a 24 on, 48 off schedule. My commute is 25 miles to work, then 25 miles back home in the morning. It takes me just about 1.5 hours each way. It starts with the first 5 miles being neighborhood riding (leaving around 6am) which takes me to a trail that runs along a toll highway only to end up going through a wilderness park (arriving as they open the gates at sunrise) where I constantly see deer and other wildlife. It is a great ride and feels great to ride up to the fire station knowing all I needed was some pedal power and my bike!!!!

25 miles! Wow, that is a long commute for your first time. I would be exhausted and probably fall asleep at my desk!

Cycle Year Round
His commute is not 50 miles a day.
He rides to work 25 miles one morning.
He rides home 25 miles the next morning and has the rest of the day off.
The following day he has off, and then starts over again.
In Hawaii, fire fighters work 24 and have 72 off.

That is a very long commute, but it sounds like a very nice route. My hat is off to you. And I wish I could see deer on my commute.

Here are a few pics. Used my cell phone. I live in FL so it is much of the same along the trail.
I know! I do not wear a Jersey. Under Armor Cold Gear FTW! It was 46 degrees.

Nice commute, and very nice pace! You are fortunate to live in a place where the climate is right for good-weather cycling year-round. Keep it up!

25 mile ride to work?! Lucky, haha. I ride 10 miles to work twice a week.
Nevertheless, looks like a good ride.
Keep at it bro!
