Unfortunately, they seem to be made in Poland, and sold only here. Here's a link to a current auction. They've changed the style of the bag a bit, but it's essentially the same thing as mine. They are, I believe, about 15 litres each--huge. ;-)

Notice, however, that they don't clip onto the sides, but rather are held together by laps over the top of the rack, and velcro straps. It's a bit awkward to get on and off, so I generally just leave them on my bike. :-) Oh, the cost? about $30 including shipping (to Poland). So, they aren't really expensive, at all. :-)

It doesn't bother me.

This fixie's been at my 7 yr old's school rack since Friday. It has a nice clean chain unlike most of the derelict bikes that wind up there. It occurred to me that it's probably a dumping spot for bikes people take for joyrides.

I can concieve of the lack of brakes, it's the lack of handlebars that freaks me out.

Nonsense! Did you see my Misfit up the last page? Longer seatpost, saddle jammed back, high stem, and voila! Yer bike fits absolutely perfectly, with the added benefit of ridiculous standover room.

Maybe I just don't understand bike theives, but I cannot fathom a joyrider taking a bike to any particular location to "dump" it. Seems like they would just ditch it wherever they were done with it and walk away.

My new rig to relieve my KM for a while picked it up at Goodwill for $35 and after digging thru the shed and grabbing old parts(wheels, tires, bar, saddle, post, levers, and cranks I picked up on ebay for $6.50 here she is.

My 1X9 1982 Peugeot P8 updated with ultegra/open pros and fenders for spring riding. Running 28c Michelin Transworld Cities. Every component of this bike (except frame, fork, seatpost, bb and headset) has been replaced over the years but she is still HEAVY! Pretty fun to ride, though.

I just put the 120 stem on tonight and it is definitely too big. I had to steal the 110 for my road bike so this stem will be replaced with a more utilitarian 110.

This was a $40 thrift store find. I bought my father an identical one for $3. Now days just about every old clunker like this is being offered for $200 or more on craigslist (case in point... http://boise.craigslist.org/bik/1100102668.html ). I am not sure why people think they are worth so much. But this was DEFINITELY worth $40.

I'm not sure what it is. I think the guy who built it up said it was an Italian racing frame. He might have said it was a torpedo, but I am not sure about that. It is a much lighter than it looks in person.

:thumb: This thing rocks! Is it a 26" Mountain bike frame? I'm now considering doing something like it!

Outstanding bike rescue!

caloso 04-01-09 03:29 PM

Snapped a pic as I was putting away my bike this morning. My buddy and I have reinstated our prework training ride as the spring races heat up.

can I just tell you that I am super jealous of your bike lockers, they look so huge and secure

caloso 04-01-09 03:58 PM

Thanks! I was on a waiting list for years. The city had them in every parking lot except the one near my building and when they finally installed them there they were all snapped up in a few days. I work a lot of late nights during the summer and it's a huge relief not to have to worry about my good bike on an exposed rack.

Here's my little brothers bike I built for him with mostly spare parts

It's a Kona Hahanna, early '90's methinks.

Used the Sora shifters and rear derailleur that came off of my Giant OCR3 when I upgraded to Ultegra/Dura-Ace

I`d heard of bike lockers before. Now I know what they look like :)

Seems they might be lifting them to ride to school...

I like the flare on those bars.

Well, I finally finished tweaking my daily rider, including flared bars:

(it's nice to see the camera's flash bring those reflective strips on the tires to life, they are completely black w/ roadgrime to my unaided eyeball)

took long enough...

I don't think any of the K-5ers are riding 700c regardless of gearing. I didn't go to the school yesterday but it was gone this morning.

mmm that's a pretty bike...

Very classy, though a black saddle would look better IMO.

This is my trusty stead. I pick it up on craigslist for $25. I have added lights, 9 spped mtb gears, xt rd, handle bars and 700 cc wheels.
