Anyone else get freaked out for a sec when seeing page 404? ;-)

Yes, I did the conversion myself. When all was said and done, it was just about 400 bucks in parts. I love it. My hands used to go to sleep all the time with the riser bars. But now, for the most part, they are fine. Except for the thumbs every now and then.

rsnelson 08-20-12 07:30 AM

Wow! Cobrabyte that is one beautiful Rockhopper conversion!

2012 Raleigh Misceo. This was when i first got it 3 months ago. Since upgraded to trekking bars and red bar tape. I'll post more when I can. Can anybody say poor man's Bad Boy? Hey but at least it's a true 29er frame :thumb:

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get it for?

Very nicely done! Looks beautiful.

I *very* much admire your bike! However I'd need a more upright riding position. For me, a B66 and Northroads bars and your bike would make my face hurt from grinning 24/7! :thumb:

$500 out the door from LBS, includes free tune up and lifetime 10% off accessories. Weighs about 28lbs, 38c kenda kontour tires feel great and are awesome enough in rain such that i don't need fenders. Oh yeah free Giro Venti (large-ish) helmet to keep my full figure melon safe!

What page 404? I couldn't find it.

himespau 08-22-12 11:49 AM

By my reckoning, we're only on page 337. But I do get your reference. Don't believe we're in error yet.

WhyFi 08-22-12 12:18 PM

You can change your posts per page setting, so not everyone is on 404 (although I am).

I don't see anything freaky on page 404 - unless its the organic mattress ad lady. She's freaky. What am I missing?

You got it ;)

Well done! It's my undercover city bike/budget build. It's fairly light, you don't need to worry about paint chips or rain and it blends into the background. It doesn't look like much, but it's a nice rider! I ALWAYS pull the seatpost, so no one would really see the Brooks. It's either with me or under me. The aero levers/v-brakes work extremely well...but the shifting is not my favorite. I need to pull the bearings and make it truly friction.

Yeah, I prefer more posts per page and less page loads when reading a thread that's already established.

Often when a page address is incorrect or routing doesn't work properly, instead of a web page loading you used to (do you still in certain browsers?) get an error message saying something like "Error 404, page not found".

Something like this:

Gah, I should have got this immediately. I blame it on my giving up coffee - its not so far ago yet!
Sigh. Honestly, this is depressing - I really, really should have gotten the 404 reference.

To be fair, I got this one:

Picked up a winter bike yesterday!
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...5689960783.jpg

It's a 2003 model, but it rides like a Lexus, and I don't think the original owner even put 100 miles on it.

I've got some work to do commuterizing it, but I think it will serve me well in the November muck.

This is my commuter and tourer. Basically a complete 52cm (26") 2011 LHT with a Brooks B17 saddle, Abus Granit Plus 51 lock, Velo Orange temple bell, Sigma computer, Tubus Cargo (26") and Ortlieb Bike Packer Classic bags.
Best bike I've ever owned, fits my needs like a glove.
The future might bring a nice custom made saddle bag, and possibly a tire upgrade to something slightly wider.

Here's one of my commuters that I built from a few odds and ends. Old lugged Schwinn frame, 27" rims that I laced to an old Raleigh hub up front and a 7 spd cassette hub at the rear. Of course I had to mount one of my Brooks saddles to it since it's one of the bikes I ride most.

2013 Kona - Ready for Day 1

2013 Kona *****Tonk that I picked up on Friday and accessorized this weekend. Added my favorite Topeak products: Explorer rack for my MTX bag (I painted the brackets black that attach the rack to the frame), wedge seat pack, bottle cage and mini-pump. Expilion light mount is ready to go too. I also took the A530 pedals off my Soho S.

Hopefully I can get some fenders this week from my LBS. The tires are 700x28, which is the same on my Soho and that took the Planet Bike Hardcore Hybrid fenders. The Planet Bike Hardcode Road says that they fit tires up to 700x28, but they didn't fit the 700x28 on my Soho, so I am going with the Hybrids on this one too.

An old pic of my grocery getter.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...agtrip2006.jpg

It's a newer "Schwinn Pacific" or whatever they are now called. It has genuine 1968 Schwinn Typhoon fenders, plus other items. So far it has performed flawlessly.
