Giant Escape 1 Hybrid, stock, white, Picked it up today. I will turn this into a commuter and light touring bike. It is my only bike. Will be putting on fenders. Looking for a rear rack & bag.

Nice disc Trucker! My two touring buddies ride Truckers. One has a disc and the other isn't, but they are both awesome riding bikes.

What bag is that on the truckers bars? Does it get in the way of the light?
|
It's a Topeak Tour Guide bag. Yes, it does get in the way of the light but not by much. It's already mounted low with a Thorn accessory bar. I may try lowering it even further. I tried mounting the light below but it's inconvenient.
I like this bag because it has lots of pockets: two on sides, one up front, and two in the cover with mesh divider and lots of little pockets meant for credit cards and the like but I use them for alcohol wipes and Wet Ones. The main compartment is padded and has an adjustable padded divider for a phone fits iPhone 5 and will fit a much larger phone too plus another pocket. Lots of places to stash stuff and keep little things from getting mixed up. The only negative is that it sags somewhat when heavy. And the clock is Stem Captain. Edit: sorry, I confused the Tour Guide bag with Topeak Super Tourist rear rack. The bag is called Tour Guide. http://topeak.com/products/bags/TourGuideHandlebarBag |
Thanks

These are Axiom Lasalle panniers, the Journey series, designed to be the front panniers while the larger Champlain were meant to be the rear set. They're both discontinued.

The Cross Check continues to morph...
We finally got some rain in California, so I installed the fenders I had been sitting on for about a year. The installation process was an exercise in frustration, but now that they're on they work really well. Will probably remove them again in May as that's when our dry season usually begins. I also went from a double to a triple crankset since I use this for bike camping and short tours, and I was sort of yearning for a triple on the last couple trips. Really missing the relative simplicity of the double crank for normal riding though. Not sure what to do about that. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...psbb01ebbc.jpg |

Brennan your bike looks great.
Mine is almost done with the upgrades I did. Need to wrap the bars and put my fender and rack back on, and add my new dynamo lights. :thumb: http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=368559 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=368560http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=368561http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=368562 and before http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=368563http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=368564http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=368565 |

I like tape, but after a long search and plenty of testing, found a product called Reflect-All. It's a new spray that you can put on almost anything. I'll try and get a night photo - but it's amazing how well it works.
You can tape off your ride for nice effects too. Not sure where to pick it up, ordered mine from reflectallaz.com |

Here's my commuter in it's current set up. Also serves as a training bike for road miles.

Here's a pic of my commuter rig, which is actually so far my only rig :-) I'm sure I'll soon start yielding to the N+1 rule, but for now, I ride this baby everywhere in all conditions :)

I think that bike looks like an N=1! I like your water tube too.
Oh, and after searching for a while, I actually stumbled across the Showers Pass Veleau 42 hydration system at Mountain Equipment Co-Op in Vancouver the other day (Canadian equivalent of REI). $80 at REI, but I only paid $9 on clearance at MEC - no idea why they were on so cheap (had been marked down to $29, 22, and ultimately $9), but I ended up buying a few just because! |
