That looks a lot like the bridges across Poway Creek, or I guess it might actually be Penasquitos Creek. Oh, and nice bike!

My partner's Defy 1 2013 commuter thrown together with some cheap accessories.

Is that an old Nashbar touring frame? Buddy of mine has one of those. His is nice, but a little odd.

Hell no! lol....It's a 1987 Schwinn Cimarron.

Thanks! I'm leaning toward that as well now.
RidingMatthew. He has an Arkel Trail Rider trunk bag. $114 online. It's a pretty cool bag. I'm considering getting one for my bike as well. I haven't decided yet though.

RidingMatthew 07-22-14 07:05 PM

thanks Seano Hermano I got an email the same day from Adventure Cycling with that bag on there. Looks like very nice bag for the top of a rack.

cali_axela 07-23-14 12:27 AM

That's a really wide minimum rack width for the Arkel, 3.15"? My rack is only ~2.5" wide at the top where it'd mount, so I guess it wouldn't work for me.

Sorry, those old (~1984) Nashbar touring frames are actually quite well made (rebadged Japanese make IIRC), but the geometry seems a little weird. (26" wheels, but the fork seems mismatched).

Nice bike! :thumb:

what kind of frame bag is that? also are those panniers really small?

RidingMatthew 07-25-14 08:03 AM

tumbler that is just awesome. I would love to have a folding bike someday I will.

Looks to me like the new iteration of the Nashbar Daytrekker (11L capacity). I used to commute with the previous version, which was even smaller at 7.9L. But perfect if all you have to carry is shirt, socks and underwear, and lunch, and you don't want to haul giant cross-country panniers around everywhere.

Now though I have switched to a kittier, for waterproofness, decoratable surface area, and fredliness.

Nashbar frame bag and Nashbar DayTrekker panniers. I wanted something smaller for the summer when I'm not carrying as much. I usually put my work clothes on one side and my lunch and maybe a jacket on the other side. This fall I'll switch back over to some larger panniers. This is my first time using a frame bag and I really like it. It's great for my phone, wallet, keys, and maybe a small snack.

RidingMatthew 07-25-14 08:59 AM

thanks i might have to look for one instead of a seat bag
