tail light, a Blackburn Mars 3.0 tail light and a Planet Bike brake light. This is my third winter commuting on it. It's a pretty
sweet ride. About 2000 miles showing on the Trek Incite cyclometer...

Believe it or not they can. It's actually not as close as it looks, but in a couple of spots it is. If it's really nasty outside, I ride my beat up Mongoose.

Here's mine. Some of you may remember my Schwinn World Sport. I just upgraded on the 5th. It's a TREK Jetta that I've made some simple tweaks to in an attempt to set it up for my road commute.

this is my main commuter for the moment.
my ride is 40 miles roundtrip in mostly heavy urban LA traffic.
all early factory spec Cervelo Dual 2006,
speedplay pedals
longer scott stem
xlab saddle wing
cateye double cadence


I've put about 2800 miles on it last year between spring and winter.

the geometry is steep but necessary for the type of training i do specific to triathlon.
It also makes it easy to walk around the office after a hard ride, or do a 10K.

I've since added:
another foldup/tube kit,
removed the downtube water bottlecage
added a rattlecannned profile aero drink
wrapped the frame with duct tape, stickers and some race numbers
dropped the base bars a bit
angled the aerobars for more leverage

I'm about to build another racer/commuter to retire this^ one to a long ride and race bike only.

After that I'll upgrade for some a HED 3's

Those fenders look great, what typ are they, they look like Hondos. I have been searching for a nice set of fenders that will fit on my Ciocc road bike
that is outfitted with 105 brakes; there isn't much room, these ones look like they might fit the bill.

My 2007 Raleigh One-Way. I've had this bike since September but have just got it into the correct shape to post on this forum (got older pics in SS/FG)
Changes/Additions include
Brooks Pro, Nitto moustache bar, NightRider evolution smart, PB superflash, Blackburn expedition rack, Jandd mini mountain panniers, Time atac alums. I also changed out the stock fenders for SKS cromo plastics after and incident of "boss tripping over bike" (he bought the new ones )

This is a very fun bike, rides like a truck. You have not experienced momentum until you have had 40+lbs of fixed-gear between your legs!

I'll say it again -- that's a nice bike Josh. I was doubtful of the Jandd panniers, but they look pretty sharp. I'll look forward to seeing it on the Tour de Bagel or whatever Sunday morning ride you come up with.

Thanks, they are Berthoud fenders I got from Wallingford Bike. I promise you there really isn't as much room as it appears to be in the picture. This bike originally had 27" wheels and now has 700cc, and the fenders still fit that closely even with all that extra room.

My two main bikes, usually use the Specialized for light touring and bad weather, just set up the Cannondale with racks will try to find fenders.

That Nishiki is awsome. So is that tandem looking one directly above. Here is my beater. I'm looking for a rigid fork with disk or canti tabs on it, then I'll most likely be throwing on a ritchey drop bar set up that's kicking around in my shed. Also, some 1 .25" street tires.

My 2006 Surly Karate Monkey. I had it built up by my local LBS (Boulevard Bikes in Chicago). I wanted a "townie" type bike w/an upright ride, single speed. This is my first fully new bike in a long time. My favorites are the Schwalbe Big Apple tires--they're like riding on a cloud. I don't have the specs w/me, but I'll post them soon. There's nothing fancy on it--mid to low level parts to keep the cost down. It's really fun to ride and given the versatility of the frameset I'm hoping to play around w/it to get some different combos (gears/drops, etc.). I'll add a black chainguard and I want to replace the nice looking but way too brittle cork grips w/some leather ones I just ordered. Plus, of course, it's now got a compliment of lights.

Lamplight: What brand fenders? I got the Zefal's....for the $$$ I am happy. But they are a squeeze around 27" wheels. (pic) And, I don't like the rear thin aluminum brace they include for attaching to the brake bar. One bend, maybe two...and after that, it will brake......no pun intended...

What are you using? They look nicer than mine! Could you move your fenders from bike to bike as your needs evolve or would it be too much of a PITA?

Cut out my own reflective tape... turned out HORRIBLE! But they help tons.
