What Might Santa Bring You?

Most of my friends and family know I can never have too much bike schtuff.

I have a few extra days off between now and year end and today Mr. UPS man dropped off a package from Modern Bike addressed to the wife. Yeah Santa!!! Maybe it's the Honey colored Brooks B-17 from the letter I sent him. I guess he does read them!

What bicycle goodies are you wishing for this holiday season???

Merry Christmas!

I bought myself some new tires for my folder. It was time and these are supposed to be awesome. Can't wait to "unrap" them and take them out for a spin

I know I'm getting a pair of full-finger gloves and long sleeve jersey (already got the new bike a bit over a week ago). The rest of my list is "wait and see" but includes some tools, cyclocomputer for the new bike, clothes, etc. So far, my wife is getting padded shorts, warm tights, long sleeve jersey, full-finger gloves and headband to cover her ears but I'm probably not done shopping for her yet.

Santa, in the form of my Mother-in-law brought me a new Nashbar carry along tool kit! It has almost everything you need to work on the bike...really nice of her. She also bought me a Perfect Pushup, reason being is she was reading Bicycling Magazine to find something for me and saw an add that said "Get the perfect line....Upper body strength is all you need..." or at least that is what she says. It is ok though because I have wanted it for a while. My mom sent me money and I bought a trainer...used for 30 dollars...and new brake levers. One of my friends bought my bike burrito. Nice xmas if I say so myself.

Lump of coal

PS, MS Claus already let me buy the new bike a couple weeks ago and all the stuff I wanted to outfit it. Almost let me buy a new Fuji off CL Saturday, but it was misrepresented and worth a lot less than he was asking so I passed..

Santa made a mistake and delivered a Surly Steamroller to my brother's neighbor's "hipster" son last summer. Son hardly road it, so I gave dad $250 to take it away. Its now a SS I use for workout rides. Sweet!

Also got some new drive train parts to replace the worn out ones on the Trek FX 7.3 (about a gazillion miles on that baby over the last 3 years!). Santa left them at the LBS, so I had to pick 'em up there.

Might be a Surly Cross Check in early 2009. Told Santa I could wait on that, since he's got a lot of toys to deliver on Christmas Eve to needy kids. Also said I'd pick it up at a LBS if its more convienient for him.

My wife refused to get me anything cycling related this year.
..but I went around her.
The money my grandmother sent purchased:
1) A spinerval dvd
2) Shimano clipless pedals for my MTB

Then I settled on my car vs bike insurance claim and splurged on a Dinotte 800L \ 400L combo.

Santa thought I was pretty good this year and got me a new bike. I didn't have to wait until Christmas so I've been riding it for about 6 weeks now. It is a sweet ride, a 2006 Specialized Ruby Pro that the LBS forgot they had. Santa also put it on *my* VISA card, but at least I got what I wanted. I use it for my fair-weather commuting and some fitness rides. Now if Santa could arrange for some nice bike riding weather over the holidays, that would be awesome !

Better hand-grips

I think I've pretty much convinced everyone to not get me anything. Even I wouldn't know what to get me if I had to buy myself something.

I got a couple of Frog lights in the company Yankee swap that I'm pretty happy with. I can't kick if Santa doesn't give me anything else this year, because he gave me a full carbon Trek 5000 earlier this year (hand-me-down from my bro).
