Yes, a big thanks to those up north for all that you endure. It's always colder here than most surrounding areas in the South, so I look to you for inspiration. 25° with a 20mph headwind this morning seems tame in comparison. We'll have single digits tomorrow morning, and I'll be out there Lord willing.

Thanks again and keep riding!!

It said -21 when I got to the office and I think that is a personal low temp for me. I've been having problems with my goggles icing up in cold weather all year so I took the train part of way. I ended up riding about 4 miles. My toes were starting get a little cold too so my usual 7 miles might have been pushing it anyway. To be honest, I didn't find the wind to be that much of a factor.

It's the first time this year I wore my IceArmor mitts. Those things are awesome!

I have to admit, in that pic there is a resemblance. Normally I'm not dressed like that for work and I don't always part my hair like that either.

yeah, i think that is definately the coldest ive ever ridden in. not bad though, i actually worked up a bit of a sweat. but the toes were giving me a bit of a problem too. nothing to bad, but just enough to be bothersome. and the wind didnt bother me today, but then i really dont have much skin exposed to the wind either.

That's a little eery. I'll think I'll stick to posting pics of bikes from now on.

It was -14 this morning in Portland Maine. That is really cold for the coast. It can and does get much colder "Up Maine" and inland, but this was the coldest I can remember in a long time. I worked up a sweat and wouldn't want to do a century in this, but I fared alright on my little seven mile jaunt.

I have to admit though, I felt like the little brother from A Christmas Story riding my bike. I wore my Mickey Mouse boots and many layers... If I fell off my bike I probably couldn't have gotten up!

Here in the Louisville area it was -2F this morning. I was in my heated cage.

This month has been depressing. I've ridden far too little.

My coldest commute was 6F, and it was too cold.

It wasn't the -7 so much as the -7 followed by -19 yesterday, and then -17 forecast for today plus the fact there was snow predicted on the 3 of the 6 days. That's why I posted the pic of the iPod.

The -19 ended up being -21 and the -17 ended up being -22. The snow hasn't panned out, except for maybe later today. But yeah, it's all relative.

So did you ride in your -45?

I'm sure you're alright looking for a guy too.

I apparently have no taste in guys however as I'm constantly surprised by who my wife finds attractive. I'm not sure what that says about me.

No, the wind chill made it more like -53. Snow is to deep.
Walking is safer at this moment.

I love the guaranteed braking power. It seems that no matter how much winter crap my bike gets coated in, I still have full stopping power. They're a little noisy when they get wet/slushy but not too bad at all.

This has been a brutal winter for you cats in Sask. Whenever it's been -35 C and I don't want to deal with riding to work, all I have to do is watch the temps to the West and I think, "well -35's not too bad".
I hope it warms up for you guys soon.

I rode this morning in Chicago, and other than some cold hands and feet, stayed pretty warm. My rear derailleur didn't want to shift at first, though. And it was only -15F in the city.

Last night was worse, heading straight west into the 19mph wind with -6 temps. Sucked the energy right out of me! I had trouble mustering up enough strength to finish the last mile (of 6).
