First cyclocommuter sighting!

I've heard a lot of people post about how they "only" saw 4-5 other commuters during their commute, but fact is, aside from a couple of sidewalk-riding highschoolers, I have never seen anyone clearly identifiable as a commuter (primarily, has backpack/mess bag/pannier), ever in my town.

I was getting a ride from one of my friends to IHOP this morning (I'm not going to ride 4 miles uphill to school on a full stomach). Anyways, I see this guy on a black Trek hybrid, on the white line of the 4-lane arterial, complete with helmet/glasses mounted mirror and what appeared to be dress shoes, ankle bands and panniers. Ok, I admit it might not be that impressive to most of you, but this is my first sighting in 4 years of living here.

(This was in Mason OH, btw, in case that guy happens to be on here)

It's just the opposite here (Geneva, Switzerland). I typically see well over 100 bike commuters on most days.

Dress shoes? Those won't last long ...
