Bright Colored Wool?

Anyone have any sources for bright colored wool gear? I've got a short sleeve Ibex orange jersey;it's ok but nowhere near as bright as my Alertshirts. They've also got a yellow long sleeve, but it's not very bright either. Swobo makes a long sleeve in bright yellow, but they've only got smalls on their website and have no idea when they'll get any more. I'm trying to make the shift from polly to wool, but still need a long sleeve and would like something brighter in a short sleeve. Any ideas folks? Does anyone even make wool in hi-viz?

I've gotten some colored wool jerseys/shirts directly from smartwool.com but none of them are like "safety bright". I have yet to find any hi-viz wool.

i got some 08 Canari wool jerseys that were the highest viz lime yellow i could find, but have faded a bit.

nothing i've seen this year. maybe a few of us could write Ibex or smartwool about the importance of high visibility cycling clothing instead of the drab offerings they put out.

this years' chili red Ibex are pretty good but not like safety yellow.

I just wear an Amphipod hi-vis harness over my wool jerseys.

That I've never seen high-vis wool means there's probably an issue dying it that color.

Ibex shows a fairly bright looking yellow now, but after their complete misrepresentation of their carrot jersey I have no reason to believe their picture is accurate.

They're not alone though. I have this hat from Icebreaker and it's almost as misrepresented as the carrot. Their red is pretty bright, much brighter than any ibex, but still not what they picture.

Stay away from the cheap merino wool sweaters from Target--they pill up quickly and look like crap. The bright red sweater from JoA Bank might be the ticket--$34 is a good price. High quality.

Anyone see one of these IRL? Their 'mars' color isn't very bright.

I can understand if wool can't be dyed hi-viz,but you could always sew on some striping.

I'd caution against faulting ibex too much. I've spoken with graphic artists in my company and getting true-to-color digitals is a LOT harder than people think. Every media (print, glossy, photo, montiors, CRT vs LCD, etc) represents colors a bit differently. Likely, their images are optimized for glossy brochures and when uploaded and viewed on you consumer-grade monitor look off.

As I understand it, the color representation issue is a big reason why Macs are so popular amongst graphic artists. I'm sure someone else on the board can explain much better, though.
