Fred or Roadie?

I'm a step above fred, and a step below roadie...does that make me a "Froadie"?

IMHO many of you calling yourselves "Freds" are way too high-tech for the label.
"Fredness" is not narrowly defined, nor should it be. I ride a touring bike with panniers. While I ride, I always wear a wool sweater, shorts, maybe rain gear, and use BMX-style pedals with pins. I never wear Lycra, and I totally gave up on clipless a while ago. On flat ground, I ride 16-20 mph. On hills, I do 6-30 mph, depending on gravity. I listed myself as a Fred, because, really, no other moniker fits. I don't mind being a Fred, nor do I mind roadies, or any other kind of bicyclist. I'm just really glad to see someone else on a vehicle that doesn't have the potential to kill me.
