[QUOTE=chingon77;8844436]Seriously folks. We really have to stop being such dumb*****es and stop believing the crap we see on T.V. You think its there to inform us??? People never learn and fall for the same B.S. all the time. So sad, and complete insanity.

Really? I wonder who you voted for President? I said almost the exact same thing about our media during the presidential campaign and got slammed for even suggesting our media is slanted in one direction.

my downstairs bathroom towel always gets black because my kids hand washing is so awesome

ex-wife who has been out of work for weeks just found out there is a case at her school where she teaches - she is no longer in a hurry to return

I continue to use my gym equipment, hot tub, and pool but I noticed a drop off in attendance - better for me.

Riding home last week I saw a guy wearing a surgical mask....in his own car, by himself. What's the point???

Somewhere along the line the media decided it is their job to make the news, not just report it.

There is 35, 36,000 people that die from the regular flu. I don't think that we should be overly concerned when a few people are dying from exotic diseases. I argee with above that the media is not making news, whatever they can find.

Providing information and entertainment are secondary to the media’s primary mission, which is selling advertising space. Increasing their ratings allows them to entice more advertisers and charge more for that advertising space. In a society with a failing public education system, and where critical thinking is a dying art, playing on irrational fears to attract viewers is a powerful and effective corporate strategy. And why wait for scary news to happen when it can be manufactured at will?
