Reading through the Oregon Cycling manual and had to chuckle...

On page 14 under "Riding on Sidewalks".

In general, you shouldn’t ride a bicycle on sidewalks. Many crashes
between bikes and cars occur on sidewalks, especially when bicyclists
ride against the flow of car traffic.



The next paragraph talks about being careful when coming to driveways, which I assume is what they're talking about above, but it was still kinda funny to me the way it was worded.

Yeah, you've really gotta watch out for those cars driving on the sidewalks.
