Another chilly ride at 32 F ( 0 C). Wamer weather has been promised this week, but so far, it just hasn't appeared. Although, it will be short lived. I decided to ditch my chilly weather gear for my ride
home yesterday. I was chilled by the time I got home. I opened the front door to let the sun in, but
to my horror, the sun is already behind the trees at 3:40 pm, so no sun to warm me up.

Looks like Fletchh and I ride in the same weather, at the same time. Funny he's right in the area where I grew up :-)
Was supposed to be warmer this am, they lied! 35 when I got on the bike @ 5am. Sure seemed as cold or colder than yesterday. Difference being today I saw one lone cyclist. Guess yesterday scared them off! Supposed to be near 70 this afteroon, we'll see!

Cold, maybe 40 F this morning but, clear and dry. Wore my shorts with two shirts; one light, one medium weight-will make it easier to be comfortable this afternoon when it warms up. I have to upgrade my lights, my 10W halogen just isn't cutting it. I may get an LED handlebar system and move my current light to my helmet. I also need to spend a little time on the bike to make it bullet proof for Winter: new cables, especially.

One too many layers on the torso this morning, I could probably get by with a long sleeve jersey and my wind blocking shell. It was bright and beautiful and brisk. I saw a few other bike commuters on my route which is always inspiring. It's supposed to be 55º or so for the ride home, looking forward to it.

Nice. 45F and wet roads, with occasional drizzle. The ride was dark and quiet. I didn't see any other cyclists on my way in, with the notable exception of one as I passed the main light rail hub downtown.
I'm very happy with my Nova 900 (magicshine) P7 light so far. Great value for the $90.
The afternoon looks to be nice - sunny and mid 50's F.

39F and sunny (well, the sun was coming up). I managed to dress fairly well for the cold, except for my toes and the top of my head. Also, I could use better lighting. As I got closer to DC, along the Potomac, the sun was blinding coming off the river. The light fog on the river was really pretty; the college crew teams looked like ghosts on the river. The leaves are just starting to change. It was just a beautiful fall morning!

35F, beautiful sunny morning. Wore the leg-warmers for the first time this season. Another rider and I took turns pulling each other for a couple miles. That was fun!
Supposed to be in the 60s for the ride home.

My son's headlight went missing yesterday but it wasn't mission-critical today.

Good commuting ride this morning with temp ~low 50s, 10-15 mph wind, cloudy, and dry. Yesterday was even better with a morning temp of 31 deg, frost over the fields and sunny. Medium layered clothing today and heavy duty yesterday...wny.

None today. I took the week off to play Mr. Mom, do house projects, and for general mental health. If I cross off two more items on my honey-do list this morning, I'll reward myself with an afternoon ride. So, time to log off!

45 degrees, little wind, perfect morning to ride to work. i finally got the layering thing down. i've been doing this for 3 years but every year at this time i either over dress or underdress. today it was my dayglo green shell with bibs and a dryfit t-shirt underneath. nice and warm but not sweaty.

36F or so this morning. The ride in was largely uneventful. There is a paving project underway on my main road that's left a bunch of gravel in the bike lane. I'll be glad when it's done.

Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)
Nice morning. 43 degrees or so. I was running a little slow, as I've not commuted in a while so I was not as "together" as usual.

Incredibly, incredibly foggy - literally pea soup like fog you couldn't see through this morning. Visibility was 1/2 block. Couldn't see intersections even with streetlights/signals whatsoever. All traffic was moving pretty slow. I love riding in the fog but unfortunately my rear wheel is being rebuilt and somewhat fortunately I rode my motorcycle. It was a little slick though. And my faceshield fogged up, then my glasses which compounded my problems. It was faster than the nightmarish bus though, which I took for the first time in ages yesterday and it took me longer to get home than if I rode my bike (standing and waiting, waiting, waiting for the bus was agonizing). I can park moto for free at work so it's actually cheaper to moto in if I don't bicycle. Rain tomorrow, still hazy and gray now. Hoping I'll have bike back tomorrow...

10 degrees warmer today than yesterday, 42 F ( 5 C ). I wore chilly gear, but it did get a bit warm,
but since I won't have to wear it home, I figure it will dry out. Yesterday, was wonderful and the sun
felt so good. It got into the 60s F ( upper teens C). Everything just works so much better. I expect the
same for the next two days, then back to whatever.

Not the best day. When I got my bike out, the rear tire had low pressure, not bad enough to call it a flat, but I had to pump it up. Then, on my ride to the station, my nose started bleeding. I mean, wtf, you know? Got to the station with dried blood on my face and trousers. How charming! Other than that, it was a nice ride.

Usual commute, kinda chilly at first about 48 degrees, but warmed up nicely. Bus #22 is still trying to kill me, but he continues to make it look like an accident. A short bus kinda pushed me out of my lane, a pick up right hooked me and I caught up with with him and was about to explain some stuff to him and a real nice looking lady waved at me and deflated my sails. i just smiled and waved at her. Oh well. I have a student teacher today so I left home about an hour late due to her schedule. I got to work about the time all the normal people get there. Today I wore my hi-vis jacked since it was a bit chilly. I heard my phone ringing in my bag just as I pulled into the lot. I dug it out and it was my coworker tellin me my sudent teacher was looking for me. About that time a couple women who I know from work pullled up beside me because they thought i was the police. A car had been following them and otherwise stalked them of late. The IPD and our police were headed toward them, but they were yelling about getting his plate number. It was very easy to catch him in traffic, but I did almost get run over once. Kinda fun start to the day. I dunno if the cops caught him yet, I am working off site now.

Wettest morning commute so far. My wife told me I was a fool for riding; maybe she was right. But I made it.
It's supposed to be even wetter this afternoon.

Ride home last night was terrible. I got a flat about 4 miles from home. I was able to put enough air in the tire to make it the rest of the way. This was actually my second flat in a couple of days (first was at home fortunately). It seems whenever I get a flat, I get two flats because I do something dumb installing the tube. In this case the valve stem had seperated from the tube.
I also destroyed a PBSF. It was mounted on a rack support and somehow got caught between the rack and rim. The friction rubbed a hole in the plastic. It still works, but is not waterproof at all. Maybe I'll put some duct tape on it.
Ride this morning, was 35F and raining. I was actually reasonably comfortable. I used my hiking boots instead of my bike shows today and they worked pretty well.
