[QUOTE=BarracksSi;9811359]Two lane (that the OP was on) turning onto a FOUR LANE ROAD. The bus can make his turn without crossing much, if at all, into the (empty) lane to the OP's left. They do it all the time around here.
[QUOTE] Why do all this to jepordize your safety. Simply wait for the red light. It was a huge bus not a compact. The OP could have done that maybe, but choose not to. |

I guess it was the usual BF pointless f'ing around. Oh well. |
Okay everyone please stop this name calling and arguing nonsense. Take it to chat. http://www.bikeforums.net/webChattr.php
If this continues I will have to take care of the situation according to protocol. Thank you. Siu Blue Wind Forum Admin. |

Well, let's go back, then -- what relevance did your story have in this thread at all? Why did you bother posting it?

It's really, really, REALLY simple. And, if you think I'm such an idiot, even I can understand it:
You're on a BIKE. You're not in a CAR. You're not even on a MOTORCYCLE. You can go just about goddamn EVERYWHERE without appreciably risking your own safety. You have no reason to stake yourself into the pavement other than to be an *******. |
.....Or you could apply the protocol now and end this nonsense.

You have no reason to stake yourself into the pavement other than to be an *******. You weren't there, you don't know what street it is, nor if there are parked cars near the intersection, if the lanes are narrow or wide (There's a few roads I ride on with 40+ foot lanes, talk about a wide outside lane!!!) There are also streets I have to go on occasionally where there is room/time for ONE vehicle to turn per green light! (And if that vehicle is a bus, they wait for the light to turn red, THEN turn against the light) There's no WAY I'm moving over to let a bus try to squeeze by me... they're dangerous enough when they're not trying a bone-head maneuver like that. For the most part the city bus drivers around here are MUCH more professional than that. I'm always on edge around school buses, though! |
Thread closed.
My apologies to the OP that the childish bantering has ruined his thread. Siu Blue Wind Forum Admin. |
