I lost 40 pounds. Also, I notice drivers talking on phones much more now... also my wife says extremes in weather don't bother me much at all anymore.

Weather? What weather. I just take a change of clothes with me. I need it anyway so if what I'm wearing gets soaked who cares?

Was mostly talking about temperatures. Rain never did bother me much.

Same here. If I sweat, I drink more. If its cold, I wear more. Always worked for me motorcycle commuting as well. Actually cold is easier to adapt to (bar black ice that is) than hot.

I've lost 100 pounds. I expected my pants not to fit anymore, but now my shoes are too loose. I actually lost enough fat (or more likely fluid retention) in my feet to change my shoe size. That was completely unexpected. Also, I can't wear my western boots anymore - my calves have gotten too big.

shaving around my saddle area... I never in my life thought I would do this... but it's become necessary

For me it is the intolerance of drivers on their phones or being generally distracted. I see too much of it and it forces me to be on my toes just that little bit more and I refuse to do the same thing when I do drive. My wife will call me on her way home from work and I tell her, "I'll talk to you when you get home because I certainly don't want you accidentally running down a cyclist, or anyone else for that matter, because you were on the phone." Sure she gives me attitude and probably calls someone else but I stress to her that even with headphones you are distracted and it is just too easy to kill someone.

The keys! I double, triple and quadruple check to make sure I have them when I leave work. Nothing worse than getting all the way home and realizing you left them at the office. In 100 degree weather.

For me, I think that I would have to say that I have gotten to the point that driving my car in traffic is so much more stressful than riding my bike. If I drive, and I leave around 7:0am, it takes me at least 20 minutes to drive the 13+ distance. I'm usually stressed by the time I get to work, and it takes me a coffee to chill. I can ride it on my bike in about 37 minutes, drink a quart of water, eat a banana and a granola bar and I feel awesome.

Even though I will have to agree with the other posters, I have become so much more aware of just how careless people can be in their cars.

I get the strange urge to signal my turns when walking around, especially if there's someone directly behind/in front of me or approaching my path.

I have perfected my snot blasting skills too. Blow that **** everywhere, but not a drop on me! :D

When I look at myself in the mirror with no shirt on, I see ribs. Weird.

I have become obsessed with the weather since it affects commuting so much. Watch forecasts in the morning, during the day and at night. I've got at least 4 weather apps on my iPhone.

My whole approach to cycling has changed. I used to be primarily recreational, fitting in rides after work on weekdays and long group rides on weekends. Now about 2/3 of my mileage is from bike commuting. I've sold my mountain bike one of my racing bikes and added a touring bike and two sport tourers to my stable. I've sold a lot of my racing jerseys and replaced them with neon green jerseys and jackets. I've invested in a topnotch lighting system, Carradice bags, racks and fenders. Replaced my Look pedals with SPDs.

I also lost 30 lbs, but that was more from changing my diet than commuting -- although it helped.

several people with key problems... my solution for that is to lock up the bike EVERY time i'm not sitting on it. just put a U-lock through the rear-wheel and rear-triangle... at home, at the office, where ever. among other things, it makes it hard to go anywhere without my keys.

seriously, doesn't stubble scratch like sandpaper? not something i'd want on my "saddle area". what about laser hair removal? or waxing?

I have started losing my car keys...a LOT...

No more road rage. But that's not actually weird.

Weirdest thing is that I am actually looking forward to commute:twitchy: Usually, going to work was never that appealing.
