A friend of mine plays that game. Anytime someone passes us, he drops a few gears up and pours it on after them, as if he's making a point. I keep pulling along and pass him in a few moments as he's gasping after his sprint. edit: not actually sure I'm a 14. The Marin Hamilton(29 inch mtb, no suspension) is considered a MTB but is also singlespeed, but is it a hybrid? I'm not sure. Yeah, it is always interesting to see people sprinting by me and constantly checking where I am. But I have been biking about 10-12 miles a day now in all weather conditions on a singlespeed 29er with low gearing (45/12), so I end up catching up to these speedsters without much effort. I don't mind the friendly competition, but I slow down immediately when it seems it could be getting reckless (other persons weaving in and out of traffic, especially fixie riders that weave through traffic and skid immediately in front of me). |
FCN of 4 on the Araya/CAAD

OK, feeling a little stupid here. What's the ranking system, and where is this calculator?
That site has the backstory, and a link to the FCN calculator. |
No scalps today, in fact, no prey at all. At least I wasn't scalped myself!
