Which shoes?
 

I am currently wearing my MTB shoes for my commute, and they work fine, but wondering what shoes you guys wear? I have seen some that look a little more like everyday shoes.

There are a lot of mtn bike style shoes that look a lot like regular shoes.
When I was commuting I wore Exustar SM600 during the winter and Lake cycling sandals during the summer. I used Eggbeater pedals.

I've been wearing Shimano mtb shoes through the fall, winter and spring, but in the warm weather I switch to road shoes and carry sandals with me to wear at work.

Currently I keep a pair of these in my office for when I have to cruise around town between locations. I don't commute in them, although I'm sure I could, I just wear them when I'm wearing my work clothes.

I'd love a pair of these at some point, maybe next year. We'll see.

It is a good thing you guys don't have to dress up for work because none of those shoes would do for me.

I do have the Shimano MTB shoes, love them for casual riding, never do at work nor anything that does not look like a real dress shoe.

Are you one of those guys that wears a suit and tie while commuting or something? Does anybody wear dress shoes when they're biking?

I don't have to dress up for work, but I do change shoes, I just leave a pair under my desk. Clipless shoes can be walked in, but it's not exactly optimal.

I used to ride in bontrager streets, which are relatively subtle, but have recently switched to bontrager RXL's. I have a pair of shoes at both my school and work.

I have to "dress up" for work. Is it impossible for you to change?

Basic Shimano MT41 shoes I picked up cheap. Walkable and comfortable.

I have Shimano M075s; SO has the MO85s. Both are decent, but the 85s have a higher tread (if that makes sense) so the metal doesn't come into contact with the pavement when walking. We change shoes at work. I don't wear my clipless shoes for any longer that it takes to make a quick stop at a store or to walk inside to change. When I go on a shopping trip I take the bike with the BMX platforms.

You're riding a bike. Who cares what your shoes look like if they work for you?

This is one of many reasons more people do not commute via bike, the impracticality of showering, carrying additional sets of shoes, suits, clothing, rain gear, cycling uniforms, getting it all washed and cleaned, hauling it around without it getting wrinkled etc.

Yeah, when you think about it, wearing any sort of clothes is a hassle.

I like my Addidas Samba millenniums. They are comfy to walk in yet have a stiff enough sole that my pedals don't feel like they are going to cut though to my foot. Of the bakery where I work does not have a dress code either, not that they are bad looking shoes.

I used to wear Vans or just about any shoe with a vulcanized sole when I ran clips and straps, but now I'm using a touring clip-less shoe, Shimano RT 80, and its made my commute itself more enjoyable I must say.

I'd need some better panniers if I had to wear a suit. I'd be tempted to leave a couple of suits at work and just bring in a new shirt and tie each day. The shoes I would definitely leave at work. I do already. I don't have to worry about them getting wet or dirty and I can wear a shoe that's comfortable for biking while on the bike.

I got some old Adidas mtn bike shoes and recently was gifted a pair of Bontrager RXL. If it was my dime, I'd go with Keen, either the shoes or sandals.

That's on the bike with speedplay frogs. I got flat pedals on my other commuter and ride in Keen casual shoes or rockport dressy shoes.

Agreed. The only suit I ever wear when riding is my birthday suit.

I actually meant while you're on the bike.. your previous post made it seem like you ride in your dress shoes and suit, instead of just changing at work.

One does wonder how they do it over in Europe....

I frequently commute barefoot. However, I work from home or my gf's home or my grandmother's or my mother's or....
Sometime today I may shave.
When I rode to work I used regular shoes, mtb shoes, road shoes, and spd sandals.

Having very short commutes... I lived in Europe for many years. Many people, like the one in your picture, have commutes not much over 2 miles.

All at once I'm assuming? You must have them in graduated sizes.
