Thanks ddez and Texasdiver. Those info will help me a lot here. I will check out Wallingford Bike shop website. I kinda lost confident at my LBS (two of themm here) when they told me that the women model was only shorter in length but same in the width. On top of that they only carry one model and that was the B17. I'm really am considering the B17S and not the flyer just for weight consideration. Reason why I think I'm going with a none spring is because I may get a Crane Creek suspension post and see how that feel. However the seat comes first since the post will do little if the seat is crappy. If it does not work out, I can use the post on my MTB. Looks like I will be splurging on a shopping spree

My local shops don't stock Brooks so I've bought from them.

A quick plug for Wallingford: A couple of weeks ago I discovered that the tensioning bolt on my Brooks saddle (a Champion Special, if anybody really cares) had broken. I ordered a replacement from Wallingford. Despite the fact that it's a trivially small and inexpensive part, it was shipped basically instantly (it was late afternoon when I ordered it, and it went out the next day), they took the time to email me to let me know it had shipped, and above all, they had exactly the part I needed in stock.

I agree with the sentiment that others have expressed regarding the Brooks saddle for the OP. During the couple of days that my replacement bolt was in transit I used the Specialized BG saddle from my mountain bike. I'd thought that saddle was as comfortable as my Brooks. I was wrong. Obviously, it's an individual choice, and a Brooks saddle isn't necessarily for everybody, but it's absolutely worth trying if you can swallow the price tag. Once I was back on the Brooks, I went from discomfort on my commute to having the saddle become completely unnoticeable under me - just the way it should be. Now I need to order one for the mountain bike...

+1

I've been pretty happy by my BG saddles. They're great for short/medium distance rides. I start to feel it after a few hours in the saddle, but I honestly don't know if there is a saddle or even lazy-boy chair that wouldn't get uncomfortable after 5-6 hours of sitting on it.

Wallingford gets recommended a lot here, but their website is pitiful. If you don't mind calling them to get answers, I guess it is OK.

I ordered my Brooks from Amazon, which I guess is not ideal because it doesn't support the brick & mortar bike shops as much, but the shopping experience is unrivaled. (including lots of real life user reviews)

Hey, I came across these guys some time ago when they were in the early stages of development. They now have a fantastic product that is now available worldwide (previously only to the industry). Check it out at www.unifiedsport.com.

You almost got me to click the link to see how creepy it was, but I don't want to encourage the guy by visiting his site.

Edit: Okay, I went back and clicked. Yeah, no thanks. Looks like a torture device.

It kind of reminds me of the facehugger from the Alien franchise. There's no way I'm letting my junk get anywhere near that.
