Bikes: Bianchi Via Nirone 7.

I watched...

2 Lance wanna be's almost go at it last night. It was funny because they were both upset because neither would give up the right of way and they were both pretty much over the center of the path. I'm not sure if they struck each other when they passed each other or not but if they didn't they came awful close.

Lance wanna be #1 rode past me going south on the bike path going more than 15 mph. I know this cause I was going 15 mph when he passed me. Lance wanna be #2 is going north on the same path and I would estimate at least 15 mph. #1 starts to pass a slower rider just as #2 decides to pass a person walking. Like I said if they didn't touch they came with in millimeters of each other.

After passing each other they both turned around to start jawing at each other about the right of way, proper passing, etc. I stopped to watch after I passed them both but the most that happened was a bunch of chest thumping and trash talking. Neither the slower rider nor the person walking bothered to stop.

Just thought I'd share.

Neither one looked ahead and decided, "you know, maybe passing while there's oncoming traffic isn't such a hot idea"? Good for them

They're as bad as the guy in the compact truck who tried to pass me last weekend coming around a blind turn. I had my arm out and hand spread, giving him the "hold off a minute" signal because I could see the construction truck coming around the other way. He got right up next to me before realizing I had a good reason to hold him back, then had to slam his brakes and swing back into the lane. If he rides a bike, he probably does what you saw on the MUP, too.

Everyone makes dumb moves on a bike every now and then. What blows my mind is that these two knuckleheads stopped and argued about it. Just wave and move on. Geez!

I suspect at least one of them was from the Cobra Kai school of cycling.
