what a sad and depressing weekend of commuting
This past week was very depressing. My IGH bike crapped out with a grinding noise from hub. My new bike that I purchased used (Specialized Langster) and this bike fell onto another bike on the back bed of my truck. It caused a few deep nicks and scratches and dented a huge dent that's size of a nickel. On top of that, it was my birthday 3 days ago! Anything I can do to make this week a better week of commuting? I'm just so bummed looking at both bikes right now.

sorry to hear this story. I have always figured that things will only get better if I ride more, so as long as you have a working bike, you should be ok.

So I'm very curious - how old was your IGH hub? Would you happen to know the model?
Sorry to hear about your crappy week, though. :-(
P.S. Oh man, I'm sorry, but after reading all the vehement arguments about the supposed benefits of frame materials - the dented bike was aluminum or steel wasn't it? (My angle is only that one material isn't terribly more durable than another nowadays.)
