No commute today

Tropical storm/deppersion or what ever they call it. 20+ mile hr wind and 6-8" of rain made me leave the bike at home.

I walked my 1 and a half mile this morning.

Yeah was raining hard where I live too, bottled it and took the bus. Would've been sunny for the journey home though.

Not liking the weather... I didn't ride today either because of the same tropical depression.

Sounds like it's a good day to be living in Victoria BC.

Showoff! The schwalbe tires on my bike would not float it down the street. DRAT!

I will take the rain and heat in the summer, to ride all year without freezing in the winter.

It's actually pretty temperate here in the winter... we live in the "other" Canada. Last winter we had -0- inches of snow, and it dropped below freezing only a few times. It does get wet and chilly here, but nothing you can't ride in if you have proper clothing.

Well well well a Stoke boy, I'm from Burslem originally, though my family now live not far from you around Baddeley Green. I should be coming back for a visit in the next few months, and I'm looking forward to the oatcakes
You commute to Kidsgrove, that's a nice commute you got there, some bl**dy hills. No wonder you didn't want to do it in the rain
Now the question remains, Port Vale or Stoke City?

No commute for me either, but we're going to a waterpark instead of dealing w/ a tropical storm -- stay safe!

Neither, I'm from Yorkshire originally but moved here to work 24 years ago, I've occasionally gone to the Vale when Huddersfield have played there but I'm not a regular by any means.

The council have done a bang up job of paving the old railways and canal towpaths around here so I can do a flat commute if I feel like it, but I prefer to include a few hills to keep my fitness up a bit, even as far as including Mow Cop occasionally.

Oh and I don't like oatcakes :-b
