<3 for Mr. Roadshow
I read his (Gary Richards') column on a regular basis since I still drive quite often. He works small miracles for Bay Area motorists daily and is a wealth of knowledge and connections, but I've never actually read the paper with any particular articles concerning cycling. I went ahead and gave him a shot to see if he'd hear me out...

Gary,
Is there any way you can work your magic to get those newly curbed sections of the San Tomas Expressway swept? There's quite a few of us commuting that stretch by bike these days and the last month or so has been hellish for cyclists (road bikes in particular) in certain spots due to the large masses of pine needles, cones, dirt, dead squirrels and concrete debris. Most days I just suck it up and remind myself I'm a cyclist and that I don't matter much, but lately, the clutter has just become downright dangerous at times, forcing me into the travel lane or causing me to nearly fall. Thanks!

San Tomas contractor is scheduled to sweep Thursday. Inspection will notify if plans change, and they do sometimes, but we will try to hold this schedule.

Wow. It took constant hounding and our block in D.C finally got gutters installed in a mere 4 years! Talk about efficient! (Oh, and the fire station repairs only took 3 years. We had a three-walled fire station that whole period). Yay us and thank god for a lack of conflagrations. Glad you have an insider to help out.

thats cool.... I read Mr. Roadshow everyday and while he is not what I would call a cycling advocate, he does have cycling themes now and then

Mr. Roadshow is awesome. He is occasionally on the radio with that cycling fiend Carl Guardino on the CEO show.
