Ever worried about using cable lock for wheels or saddles?

The common opinion is that you should not use cable locks for your entire bike, but only for securing quick-release wheels/saddles to the locked bike frame, reason being cable locks are easy to cut (agreed here), but a thief is unlikely to cut it only for the purpose of stealing a wheel or a saddle.

Is the latter (in italic font) the case? So you are worried if your bike is only secured by a cable lock, but you are not worried if your wheel or saddle is only secured by cable lock to a U-locked or chain-locked bike frame?

Has anyone lost his wheel/saddle as a consequence of using cable lock?
