1 month down!
Ok, 1 month has passed and I still actually want to ride to school! I did the first week on Monday and Friday only, but soon went to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday routine.
So 4 weeks and 220 miles later, I've lost... well, just 3 pounds. But hey, it'll keep dropping.
Thanks for all the tips and support so far!

Ha! Just weighed myself this morning and dropped another pound.'
My ride is 10 miles one way. I get to school usually around 8 a.m. and shower at the rec center. It's a pretty good setup and I definitely have my routine down. If I didn't ride on one of those days, I'd probably go to my tues-thurs classes by accident!

Great job! And yes, the weight should come (assuming you're also being careful about diet, etc...)
One thing on the weight loss: Don't exclusively look at the LBS. Be aware of other things like waist measurement, etc... I found that while I've ~only~ dropped 25 lbs in the past year, I've also taken over 2 inches off my waist, the rest of me is back to looking solid, not so flabby, and there's obviously improved cardiac fitness.
