Don't forget to commute to the polls!

My first two-wheeled vote!

MVclyde 11-02-10 06:51 PM

That sticker looks nice on there. I like that deep red paint.

I rode home early today to meet my wife and go vote. We drove to the polling place, though.

slolane 11-02-10 06:57 PM

Nice!!

mojopt 11-02-10 08:10 PM

Vote early-vote often...

SactoDoug 11-02-10 08:17 PM

In California your vote only counts if you can do it in Spanish. We hand out "Ya Voté" stickers.

MijnWraak 11-02-10 08:52 PM

Matches the redline sticker perfectly!

Said 100 pie, 100 feet to poll. I wasn't happy when they were all out of pies.

jrshanks 11-02-10 09:06 PM

It was also My frist two-wheel vote today.

Panda Bear 11-02-10 09:14 PM

I voted upon my two wheels as well... Well I got there on two wheels at least! Only my second time voting and first being car-free.

Dean7 11-02-10 09:15 PM

I dropped my ballot off on my bike today as well. :)

Dirt Farmer 11-02-10 11:12 PM

Jeesh, I guess I have it easy here in Oregon. Everyone votes by mail!

But I did manage a nice bike ride after mailing in my ballot two weeks ago, if that's any consolation for a biker.

Rumpled 11-02-10 11:26 PM

Your sticker is way cooler looking than mine.
I rode the .7 miles to vote, all uphill.
I usually mail in my permanent absentee ballot - bu this year I misplaced it.
So, the need for the bike trip.
I've gotten to polling places on foot and skateboard previously. As well as motorcycle and car.

djork 11-03-10 12:09 AM

Yep, biked to the voting booth!

My sticker wasn't as cool as the OP's. I tossed mine aawy :P

Timber_8 11-03-10 01:44 AM

I voted but drove to the pole

South or North? And what kind of cold weather gear are you sporting?

I voted, but drove the Mrs. to the polls, as she's not much of a cyclist. She begrudgingly supports my insanity, however.

RT 11-03-10 07:36 AM

I did the same. My daughter dropped me off at the polls on her way to school and I was able to tack on an additional three miles. Can't do that in Washington state - how long have they been mail-in only?

lubes17319 11-03-10 07:40 AM

Pedaled to drop off my ballot Monday evening.

Footsore Ramble 11-03-10 08:20 AM

I rode my bike to the polling place as well. The volunteers there were impressed. One of them said, "Voting and riding a bike -- two things you should keep doing for the rest of your life!"

JPinWI 11-03-10 08:27 AM

I biked to the poll on my way home from work...added about 1/2 mile to my route.

woodway 11-03-10 09:43 AM

We vote by mail here in Washington. But I did carry my ballot to work on my bike so that I could drop it into the mailbox at the office.

tjspiel 11-03-10 09:50 AM

There were two other commuters in the line with me and I saw another one ride up as I was leaving. Was glad not to be the only man wearing tights.

calamarichris 11-03-10 10:43 AM

I was the only cyclist at the polling place, but fortunately there were two other dogs there. :)

The last time I DIDN'T ride to vote was in '92; skipped '96, and have been a bike commuter since 2000, and car-free since '04. It's cool -- there's a welded-steel, roll-cage-like barrier around an outside stairwell right outside the entrance, so I lock up about 6 feet from the door. Nobody has ever messed with the bike.

3speedslow 11-03-10 05:07 PM

Oh Yes, Voted yesterday by way of two wheel transportation. Got the sticker but didn't put it there.

3ss

xB_Nutt 11-03-10 06:05 PM

I always ride to the polls to vote. Less hassle with parking and traffic...plus it's on my way to/from work so I am riding anyway.
