Cleveland Winter tires

I am moving back to cleveland in january, and i am trying to figure out tires. when i last lived in the cleve i had some kenda kross supremes, which along with my fenders worked pretty well. The where kind of a pain when it was just slushy and not snowy, and they seemed to pack up with snow pretty easily. does anybody have any experience with michelin mud 2's. i think(hope) the wider spaced lugs will let it get a better grip into the hard pack that has put me on the ground a couple of times. any other suggestions? My bike is my only transportation, and I spend most of my time within the city
