Close Call

What started out as a usual morning commute almost took a nasty end.

It was a rainy 6 am start and was uneventful for everybit of the 4 1/2 miles in. The fun came when I began my approach to the plants front gate.I enjoy buzzing the guard house while laying on the bell, great way to start the workday. I notice a heavy piece of earth moving equipment beside the road as I headed downhill but was more interested in the little gravel that was on the road. The closer I got to the gate, I realized that the entire entrance was covered in a thick wash of gravel.

In the early morning 2 cars were dukin' it out and managed to nascar bump one into the fire hydrant along the route. The geyser of water managed to wash half the gravel parking lot down onto the entrance.

So, In the dark, wet rainy road, old steel rims I come charging across this gravel field on my 27" Free Spirit road bike.

I went" mountain bike stance" and rode it through. I would not say that I had control, only that it was steering chaos.

I would say that I was the man in the seat, not the man on the street.

I was really lucky ! 3ss

Sometimes you eat the bear . . . sometimes the bear eats you! Glad to hear you're ok and that things didn't end up badly.
