Best iPad case for Bike Commuting?

How many iPad users out there carry them on your bikes? What case/skin/sleeve do you use?

I'm looking at the Otterbox Defender series, I use their case on my cell phone after watching one skip down I-90 at freeway speeds and survive.

They gave me an iPad at work, because they had me build a web app that targets it. They also asked me to be sure it doesn't get stolen at night, but we don't have keys to our desks or cabinets, so this means mine comes and goes with me. I put it in a pannier, and try not to crash. I wrap a jacket or sweater around it for some cushioning, which has worked out since it doesn't get any shock except road buzz.

I assume you just mean transporting it, and not mounting it to the bars...?

Yes, just carrying it, not using it while riding. Though it would make a really nice GPS map system for touring....

Best thing to do with an ipad before a ride, scratch that, before doing anything with it.

I saw a picture on the never-wrong internet of somebody doing that. Also, this may be an iPad?

I dont know if its the "best", but I have this one
https://www.amazon.com/Incase-Protect...047754&sr=8-10

I put it in my bag between my clothes. I like it because where the iPad tapers off around the edges, the case gets thicker so you can set it on a table and it sits flat. This design also give the most protection at the corners and edges where its needed most. The screen is not covered in any way though, so if you drop it face down and it lands on a smaller, hard object, its toast. The downside of this case is that the rubber seems to attract dirt and junk.

I have pondered mounting it somehow - nice big screen for gps!

This is the most un-funny and stupid iPad joke I've seen yet...

Mine is inside the standard Apple case and before putting it in a pannier I put it in this. It's a case for a 10" netbook, fits great and keeps it safe.

Well, my commuter pannier already is a Pelican case,

But the iPad shares space with clothes, laptop, phone, keys, spare glasses, etc. (Yes, too much tech stuff, but I'm in marketing communications so it's better to bike with all that stuff than to stay in front of my computer in the office.)

I have the Timbuk2 Handlebar bag, which fits the iPad just perfectly: https://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/products/...m_term=product

Bikes: something

I never understood the fascination with "Will it blend?" or any other show that basically achieves comedy through the destruction of any highly sought after/ expensive product. It seems like people just do it for the shock and awe factor.

Always has seemed stupid to me...

I use to think the best part was watching what ever it is get destroyed.

Recently I have changed my mind and I think the best part about it is how many people get bent out of shape about it.

You guys would really love the Annual cutting of the Jet Ski that goes on a Yamaha next door to my office (well old office as we moved last last week).
Yamaha takes a Sawzall and cut all their 2010 show and photo demos in half. Absolutely nothing wrong with them other then being greasy from oiled up models crawling all over them..

Few years ago I watched the Orange Chevrolet extended cab truck that was BFG's advertising truck seen in all the 4x4 magazines and also was in several "Trucks" episodes get stripped down and sent back to GM on a roll back. It was 2 years old.

The part that will torque you the most is why.

Because blending stuff to dust is AWESOME!

Besides, with a few million iPads already in users' hands, I think one can be blended without causing the seas to boil.

Anyway, I just stick my iPad in my pannier or whatever I'm using. It's also got a leather case from SGP that my wife got for me:
https://www.sgpstore.com/laptop/apple...on-series.html

And, it'll also fit inside a "fül" laptop-iPad carrying bag -- which I'm having a hard time finding online so I could post a link. It fits a 15" laptop and iPad in separate bags, and the iPad bag zips onto the laptop bag so you can carry both easily.

Oh, duh, I should just type in "ful.com" and see what comes up:
