It was a commuter biking Christmas!

I really scored this year from all my grown kids! I got a new balaclava with an antifog nose design, heat reflective winter cycling gloves, a long sleeve thermal undershirt and a new Blackburn rear light! :) So what about everyone else...what did you get? Frank

xtrajack 12-26-10 11:18 AM

I got a new Dymotec-6 dynamo w/a Lumotec IQ-Fly lighthead, I actually got it before Christmas, for Christmas. My wife loves me.

garydhatch 12-26-10 11:24 AM

Ibex balaclava, Ibex gloves (will have to return, too large) 2 skull caps that will fit great
under helmet and a fluid trainer.

PS3 and FFXIII. Not too impressed with this new FF release.

Newbie here and I am just starting my first conversion, my old Diamondback Ascent and the wonderful wife hooked me up. She went to the LBS and got me Specialized Fatboys, Niterider 150, Cateye Reflex, and a rack. Now to get to work putting it together.

Heh.

I Santa'd myself a RadBot 1000. Very happy with that taillight.

I got that game too. Isn't the opening the exact same as FFVII? Looks like they just ran out of ideas for the opening at 13 release. After watching that it got bored really quick. I just play Super Street Fighter 4 now. Playing on the Playstation Network for free is worth the steep admission price of the PS3.

Mom got me some midweight tights and baselayer shirt from ems and socks, kept me nice and warm when I rode over to my grandmother's house and back for dinner, around 10 miles round trip in 27* weather.

MijnWraak 12-26-10 02:28 PM

Magicshine MJ-818 & Rear Light. Ordered before christmas so I wouldn't die on my commutes :)

CCrew 12-26-10 03:21 PM

Salsa Vaya frameset to build up. I sooooo love my wife :)

Had all the kids at home for Xmas, which was worth a lot more though.

More like the FF X opening.

I treated myself with two S Mini flashlight to be use on my other helmet. Nice tiny little light with good runtime and brightness.

On the other hand, I received a gift card to pig out at Elephant Bar restaurant. Just what I needed before my goal to try to lose 10 lbs for the upcoming year.

Radbot rocks.

I'm always complaining about cold hands so my wife got me glove liners and gloves, plus a Canari jersey. From myself, an SLX derailleur and handlebars. :-)

CFXMarauder 12-26-10 06:32 PM

Under Armor Balaclava, long sleeve shirt, pants, gloves and glove liners..Pryme "HAVE A GOOD DAY" gloves and "One Less Car" socks..Road ID..

Was nice and warm on my work commute even though it was 39F, raining and a 23 mph headwind..The "Have a good day" gloves got used also when a gent cut me off during my left turn..

FunkyStickman 12-26-10 06:49 PM

Got a pair of ski gloves, that's about it for the bike.

twobadfish 12-26-10 06:57 PM

Bicycle! Turbocharged electric toothbrush, regular expressions book (o'reilly series), a couple toys that our soon-to-be son got me (thoughtful before out of the womb), a ton of baby stuff, microwave. I think that's it :D

Happy New Year!

capejohn 12-26-10 07:02 PM

Poles and hurdles for soccer fitness training. I will return to high school coaching after a few years off doing the corporate stuff.

I had a nice Christmas too. My girlfriend bought me a new balaclava and a Planet Bike Eco Rack. I also received another set of lights so I won't have to continuously switch lights from bike to bike, and someone gave me a 50 dollar gift card to my LBS. I think that's it, but I might be forgetting something.

irclean 12-27-10 10:34 PM

Spent my Christmas money today; I ordered a new trunk bag along with some gloves, a balaclava, and some ski goggles from MEC to outfit myself for January and February, which are typically the coldest commuting months for me. Thanks to my wife's parents who still feel it's proper to give me Christmas money at my age.

I contemplated getting a Topeak MTX trunk bag and rain cover since I already own a compatible rack, but for the same money I got everything else instead. I'll get the Topeak bag next year and hand my new MEC one down to my daughter.

My name's Mike... and I'm an obsessive accessorizer.

paul2432 12-27-10 11:18 PM

I got a Topeak Turbo Morph Pump, some new pedals (MKS Lambda Platform), a Big Agnes sleeping pad, and a Exbed camping pillow. The latter two items are for some short bike tours I have planned.

Remember, Topeak makes waterproof bags now. You might want to look into that.

I bought myself a unicycle.

Actual gifts, bluray player with Sherlock Holmes, book about the making of Kickass, and then other random stuff.

Andy_K 12-27-10 11:24 PM

Avid Single Digit 7 V-brake + Travel Agent for my Cross Check
Novara Commuter backpack
Specialized Toupe saddle
New, lightweight handlebar for my '89 Rockhopper

nelson249 12-28-10 02:58 AM

My wife gave me a new bike, a Norco City Glide. The bad news is that I now have to part with my old Bianchi. :(

Artkansas 12-28-10 09:28 AM

The elves gave me a beauty of a flat on the way home from work. An industrial staple that managed to get both prongs to go into one hole and then cause three flats inside. Ho ho ho!
