Nice ride in, nice weather, no real incidents to speak of, and I actually felt awake by the time I got in. I was pretty zzzzzzzzzz when I woke up.

It'll be a bit warm for the return ride though.

First time i ever commuted on my bike. OMG it is a whole new world. I am relaxed and buzzing from my riding high! IT was awesome!

My ride is about an hour, hilly rolling terrain. Paoli to Oaks PA.

My ride in this morning was nice, very calm, cool (for us) and overcast. Should be a great ride home today. And TGIF!

Still in the construction zone, so I have been seeing some new routes. Got passed this morning by two fixies riding together. I have to constantly remind myself to keep my "going to work-not sweating pace" in the mornings. No cat6.

I fought a headwind for the first time today. Eff that noise. Hope it dies down this evening.

This morning was glorious. After too much time off the bike, riding again is wonderful.

The temperature was pleasant, it was sunny and breezy.

I was so happy, I didn't even mind the rude driver fake laughing at me because I was riding my funny-looking bike. (the 'bent).

Interesting sight on yesterday's ride home - guy on a thirty year old Schwinn, which looked normal except the rear wheel was so out of true I don't know how it was rolling and his chain was several inches too long... so much that it sagged a good two to three inches between the chainring and the gear cluster on the rear wheel. Dumpster find being nursed home???

Otherwise a decent ride home. Was tired so took it slow. Got passed near home by a guy literally training for a TT it seems. Rear wheel cover and all.

Good ride in this morning. Got a little of a late start (just a couple minutes, but enough), but managed to make up for it w/ some harder than usual riding. Hope to get in at least an hour nor two of fun riding this weekend.

Nice photo above. Anyway, the commute yesterday kicked bootie. I rode 30 miles non-stop w/ a brand new chain. Sweet!!

A glorious morning for riding a bike. Today I rode my '86 Gazelle and fell back in love with the ride that only a Reynolds 531 frameset can give. I really need to spend more time with my racefiets.

This morning sucked. I had everything ready for my 20 mile ride in, was about to head out the door and my wife called to tell me she had been rear ended, the car wouldn't start, she was stuck in the middle of the road... Then she started crying and sounding helpless. I jumped in the other car, and went to her, but by the time I got there, she had it all pulled together, pretty much. Of course, by that time, my window of opportunity for biking and getting to work on time had closed, so I was forced to re-group and take metro.

The only bright spot is that she's out of town this weekend, so I can probably do a long 'pleasure' ride to make up for my lost ride.

I rode to work all five days again this week, another 122 miles. The cold spell on Tuesday where it only got up to 93 degrees was nice, but it's hot again now.

Storm riding! Thunder and lightening, driving rain, trees falling over - it was exhilarating.

I broke a total of 5 miles on the bike up into about 1-mile chunks on a mixed-mode transit after work this morning. It was hot and humid so the air-conditioned breaks on the bus were welcome respites.

Having been a low-mileage rider so far this year, it felt like an accomplishment to conquer Broad Street in Chamblee, GA and the south end of Idlewood Road in Tucker, GA in the same day without walking either hill. Add to it the fact that I was riding with approximately 50 pounds of cargo and I'm decently impressed with myself. :thumb:

By the time I got home, showered, and into bed, it had been a 24 hour, 3 minute day so I was doing all of this riding this morning while I was already pretty worn out (adding to the sense of accomplishment).

Finally got a chance to bike to my temporary work site (for training)...I was a little worried because it's over 2x as long my normal commute and basically all uphill for the entire 23 miles...only about 650 feet total of climb, but I had a heavy backpack, so that gives me an excuse to complain. But I made it in the exact amount of time I hoped and I didn't fall asleep during class. Ride home was pretty hot and my gear wasn't dry from the morning (ewww), but since it was downhill coming back, it made for a reasonably pleasant and easy ride, which ended up being slightly longer, so round trip was right about 50 miles...not sure how many times a week I'll be able to sustain that, but it's a nice alternative to spending $4 in tolls and $7 in gas every day.

102 coming home which was a reprieve from the 109 coming home the other days of the week.
Now that I've figured out how to NOT have flats, I just completed my first full week of commuting by bike. If I wait until Sunday to buy groceries, this will be the first full week I haven't burned an ounce of gas since I was about 13.

It's only the trees that really worry me. Usually after a storm I'll see 3-6 trees that had fallen over the 8 mile Greenway stretch and today I missed getting clobbered by seconds when one fell 20 or 30 feet in front of me.

My front derailer cable snapped, something which I've never experienced before. I'm going to attribute it to a poor quality cable. It was a budget bike purchased from an online retailer, so the cables were probably not great quality. I stopped by the LBS and picked up a new cable ($7) and it only took a few minutes for me to install.

Great commute last night. Rode the Fenderbeast because the weather looked iffy and I had to ride in the dark. Temp was perfect, cross wind for the first half and a tail wind for the rest. :)

It's been a windy day here in Athens with winds gusting to around 25knots making cycling interesting (depending on the winds direction!). Since it's Sunday and there's no commute to work, I decided to take a ride around my area which includes the "Piece and Friendship" stadium (see below) which will host some of the Special Olympic games this week. Along the path, I also cycled into the local marina where, unfortunately, I had a run-in with someone who forbid me to take pictures (the ones below) and pretty much threatened to confiscate my cellphone. He wasn't wearing a uniform, and when I started dialing the police to report the incident, he jumped into a tender and left the dock swearing and cursing! It seems that there's always someone out to ruin your cycle some days!

Made a few calls... it seems that the super-yacht seen in the second picture was recently purchased by someone for $110 million US; this during a major crisis in the Greek economy, so I guess they probably paid some of the marina workers to fend off reporters/paparazzi to keep things hush-hush. They didn't count on a Clydesdale cyclist though! lol

Pretty pictures and interesting ride. It seems the high end Yacht market has taken a hit everywhere. Of course you still have to have a couple 10s of millions of dollars that you don't really need to buy one.

Perfect morning, a little over cast and 71 F ( 22 C). I couldn't have imagined a more pleasant ride, and it will haunt me all winter long.
