50F, sprinkling. Took a straight uphill route to work today.

Exactly. I'm barked up a bit, the bike is fine and I did see the humor in it right away. My co-worker said it looked like I was having a seizure on the way down trying to get out of the toe cages.

Pleasant morning commute. First ride of the week. Having done some work on my bike over the weekend, I must not have tightened the axle nuts enough because I when I went to accelerate to make a left turn the rear wheel slipped forward a bit and jammed against the U-brake pad. I was only 2 blocks from home, but I broke out the socket wrench, repositioned the wheel in the dropouts and went about my merry way.

When I got to work, I noticed that it's again pleasure motorcycle season. The fair weather motorcyclists who rode to work once again were hogging the bike rack (and not using it, just taking the close to the building parking space... lazy people piss me off!) University cops don't care. If you can secure your vehicle by taking the keys with you, rather than physically using the rack, why take to space near the rack? Oh, that's right, you're an inconsiderate **** who can't walk and extra 25 feet and you feel some sense of entitlement because you ride a motorcycle? Reason and courtesy escape these people. It's a bicycle rack, not a motorcycle parking space! I'd not have a problem if these people actually used the rack to lock their front wheels, and secure their bike, but no! It's about being closer to the door than the next person and screwing over anyone one who might NEED to use the bicycle rack. One day I'm gonna take my U lock to each one of these motorcycles...

Yeah, but if they were to use an actual parking space, in addition to having to walk, they'd probably have to pay for that, and you wouldn't want poor them to have to pay to park would you? :innocent:

Cloudy and humid this morning but no rain. Now at lunchtime it's coming down pretty hard. I hope this blows through by 5:30....

It should be noted that phases 1 and 2 can be interchangeable, depending on the person that you are telling the story to and the bike that you wiped out.

It finally stopped raining and the sun actually came out today.
Nice commute sunny and temps above 80F.

Go buy some $1 padlocks a the dollar store and lock their disc brakes.

I did a bunch of bonus miles on the way home, picking up my CSA share from my share partners and stopping at the grocery store for eggs and coconut water. Everything that pissed me off all day was washed away as I rode. Although early in the ride, I got cut off by an SUV. As I rode past, with a cigarette hanging out his mouth, half-leaning out the window, he said, "WTF are you doing bro? There's a sidewalk right there!" Didn't dignify his ass-hattery with a reply, just rode past and enjoyed the pleasant weather and bonus miles.

Humid as heck in the morning so I got to work soaked in sweat with a light, but annoying head wind.

The evening ride welcomed me with a very strong head wind that pissed me off and a heckuva lot of heat and sun to go with it.

I asked my buddies over the cube walls to tell me when I get too stinky and that'll be it for commuting this summer.

A very good ride in at 69 F ( 21 C). The light at 5am is decent on a clear day. It always reminds me of what I am not seeing at 5am in the winter.

Yea, sunny and warm yesterday for the commute. I could tell it was warm by how long I continued to drip once in my office. I'm not riding in today, just taking the subway.

You beat me to it. My first worry would be my bike. :)

A lovely ride this morning. Temps in the 50s F / low teens C, but with a gnarly headwind. The Soho continues to provide an enjoyable ride. Even with the headwind I maintain a reasonable cruise speed. The ride home may be lousy with thunderstorms. Hopefully they avoid me.

Another good ride today, although the wind was a little strong (but mostly as a tailwind, not a headwind :) )

Passed 1000km total distance covered on my bike this afternoon, after only owning the bike for 6 weeks. Felt pretty good about that.

I finished fixing my car's ignition lock this morning, so I drove. I miss the bike already.

Freakin' COLD. Got gobbled at by wild turkeys.

I really wanted to ride one of my faster bikes today and pick up the pace. However, my coworkers planned a feast at work today, so that meant I had to ride the touring bike to carry my share of the food. Had a great ride anyway, even though I caught every red light. This will be our 5th day in a row of 90+ temperatures and I'm starting to get acclimated, although I've slowed down some.

On my way home last night I was chugging along on a 45mph road, going straight through an intersection (with the green light), just right of the white line, when a woman in a Civic decided she was going to turn right in front of me rather than behind me. She swung way wide, tires squealing, practically on two wheels, straight into the side street's oncoming left turn lane. Would have been a bad day for her and the other car if someone had been waiting to turn left.

Amazing! 65, Sunny with a light, gentle breeze. It just doesn't get any better than this. When I got to the office, I wanted to keep going...

Warm. 51F, steady north wind (and I ride north in the mornings) to keep me honest. Pretty straight ride this morning, all lights were green for me except two. Very unusual.
The city felt eerily quiet this morning. It could have been the normal queitness at 6:30 AM with the added element of the steady wind and clouds threatening to unleash rain at any moment.
