Would be major disappointment if they screw my order.
When I ordered mine, it said they should arrive 1/26, and I haven't heard anything since then, so hopefully that's still the case. I could have ordered black (yellow?) and it was in stock, but the white were back ordered. Funny thing is, if I'd known that by ordering black, I'd really get yellow, I'd have ordered black. But then might not have gotten yellow anyway, or something like that. Sure hope mine show up, but I have a week to wait.

the comedy continues...

since i fussed about the color when i picked up the first time, they forgot to mark the order as picked up. just got an email that said my order was canceled and the charge was credited back.

dang morals...i won't argue too long with them. of course, they did credit me back for the back rollers and i paid the $60+tax for them. my tea leaves say i am going to regret calling. leaving country this weekend, I'll have to handle when i get home...

I just got an email indicating that the 2 sets of front and back panniers I ordered are still backordered. For those who have dealt with bestbuy before, are things ussually like this?

12 days since ordering and still backordered.

My front bags came in and I picked them up yesterday. Was expecting black but they are yellow, which was the color that I actually wanted. The back ones are on back order. Looking forward to them coming in.

On some of the bags (depending on what page and color etc.) it said they were backorderd and it wasn't just a couple days (can't remember how long it was) so you might be waiting a while yet. Hopefully they come soon for you guys. I am kinda glad I didn't order any of these since I don't really need them except I did pick up the 520 last week. Oh well, there will be another deal.

I wouldn't expect a long delay on the back order. When I ordered mine they were on back order, but I got them by the end of the same week I ordered them, even though claimed an expected delivery date of Feb 1.

my expected delivery date was 1/24. I got an email saying that my order was on backorder and to call the 800# for my options. I spoke to a very nice lady that informed me that the next available delivery date was 2/8. She look at all the stores in a 50 mile radius.

The wait continues.

I got the same email, and spoke to someone who also said 2/8. They asserted that they will fill the order. Fine with me, as long as they show up.

I picked mine up on Sunday. The "black" front and back I ordered were yellow. That is okay I guess since they match and it wasn't one black and one yellow.
Great deal and thanks bored117 for posting this.

I am also going through the same crap....ordered on the 15th....no change with the "confirming in store Inventory" since the 15th and no emails, notices etc from them...finally called today and they said my bags were "back ordered" even though the online website says in stock

I ordered mine January 10th. I really wont be needing them until May or so. I will be waiting as long as required to get these bags at the great price paid. I've waited much longer for stuff from dealextreme. I can wait like a pro.

I wanted to check here to see if you guys who got "backordered" emails ever received delivery or not. I ordered mine on 01/11 (black back rollers) and they delivered yellow. That was okay with me, given that I was only settling on black because of the killer pricing but really wanted yellow. A buddy of mine is still waiting on his and he ordered on the 12th, one day after me.

I ordered a backpack on the 15th, ship to store. Still backordered, still no word past that. It took them over a week and a half to send me the "backordered" email, even though it said that when I ordered it; strange. If I log in to check the status, it still says "confirming store inventory". Whatever... no harm in waiting.

One would think that a business would have such a sale due to a surplus of inventory, but it seems that best buy had the opposite strategy. This is pure speculation, but maybe they did have a surplus and the response of consumers was overwhelming. One will never know.

I wouldn't lose hope. They will eventually recover their inventory and uphold these pending orders. At the very least, full refund is always an option.

OP here.

Still same o. I called them once and haven't bothered much after that. I am going to see if Best Buy is going to play bait and switch tactic on me or not. It has been almost a month for me now it seems. I intend to see what they come up with between honoring what they had or... screwing with customers. And quite honestly, if it was first in first out, there is no way I couldn't have gotten my item which makes me think they were playing no real stock get customer interested game. Of course, all this could be my imagination but back order for 1 month? hmmm...

I ordered a bicycle helmet from Nashbar the day after thanksgiving and it was on back order till like March. It didn't matter because it was for my wife and she won't be riding till then and she still has her "old" helmet anyway. Maybe Best Buy is screwing around, but if they don't have the items they don't have them and they probably aren't going to rush to get stuff that they sold for half price. YOu might have to keep waiting, but I would keep checking on them every couple of weeks so they don't forget about you. =P I sincerely hope everything works out for everyone.

There are some guys who comment in various road forums about the illuminati behind the great Lance Armstrong conspiracy. I'm sure they'll have some insight into Best Buy.

For me, ignorance is bliss -- I doubt they're in the business of selling phantom product to mess with customers, they understand the difference between backorder and out of stock for good, and you can either hang on hopefully for the price or cancel the order at your request if you feel compelled to run out and buy them at, e.g., REI for much more. In short, you're still in the driver's seat, even though perhaps the road is a bit windier than you'd have preferred.

No good deal goes unpunished.

I just called as well. The rep was very unhelpfull and all she could do was extend the backorder for 30 more days. Guess thats the way it goes.

Truly tho, I am shocked. I have had order come from dealextreme faster than this.
