Yee-haw! The Great Thaw has begun...
And I just got my bike back from the LBS!
Haven't ridden in two weeks due to weather and record setting temps- minus 12F at my house two days ago, now reading 60F!
The low is forecasted to be 31F in the morning, and I'm thinking about wearing shorts

Bikes: I have five of brikes
it was 45 degrees today here in chicago, so i decided to go out for my first ride in shorts since new years eve day. the lakefront trail is a mess with all the melting snow, but it was oh so fun to ride in shorts. the forecast says highs in the lower 50s by the end of the week. it's gonna feel like july compared to the 5 degrees we had last thursday.

Yesterday I was breaking up the hard packed snow on the driveway while wearing shorts. No days in the forecast for this week where shorts would be sufficient. There has been a lot of melting going on the past few days, leaving lots of large deep puddles.
Tomorrow morning's commute will be interesting as the puddles should freeze over tonight, but still have water underneath. For the most part the entire road route should be melted down to pavement, so it could be a nice fast ride. I'll take the MUP on the way home, otherwise I'd be getting sprayed by cars the whole ride.
