They're born with wings you know?

I once saw about 10 - 12 doe deer on the MUP. They were quite a ways off from the mountain.

hmm ive seen a pack of chickens/hens two times in the same area (mind you i ride through an urban city).

i think that's more out of place than the couple of cars ive seen that were set on fire (at some point) and abandoned.

By golly, you're right. It must have been a two-legged bunny with feathers.

I have seen packs of chickens take a small moose before. Er wait, maybe it was a pack of wolves? Neverimnd

What has puzzled me is the frequency with which my road finds immediately precede the need for such a tool. A chisel, and a car's tire iron come to mind. Both of which I did not have and needed within 24 hours.

I also found a pair of very nice Kitchen Aid scissors. I've found so many screwdrivers and pliers that I don't bother with them.

Lots of dead animals. The most notable was an oppossum. It stayed as a flat lump on the road for almost a year till heavy rains finally washed it away. But the pavement was still stained.

I found my old pair of boots that fell off my rack about 5 months ago. I would've picked them up but they were on the feet of a homeless guy who was yelling at a bush.... I actually felt kind of glad that they were being used by someone who wouldn't have good shoes otherwise. Other than that there isn't really anything on my commute. I do pass by a sawzall blade everyday that i never bother to pick up. I was thinking about making one of these http://www.instructables.com/id/Make...-Pocket-Knife/ with the blade but never got around to it.

I found a pink mini mag light once on Michigan Ave across from Sparrow Hospital. It was in perfect condition. Still have it, and still use it. That's all.

i have found many tools. blue point hammer, channellock wire cutters, cheapo tongue and groove pliers, cman screwdriver, air blow gun for compressor, snap on 10mm wrench, cman 6mm, malco snips, mac prybar

I find weave all over the place when I ride through the hood.

That's how I used to get my bikes as a kid. Fished a couple out of a creek, sand-blasted, spray painted, oiled, chain, new brakes. Heavy things.

Yeah, i see him all the time now. He'll walk about 20yds and then stop, turn, bend down and yell something at a bush. He does this all the way along the path like he has a running commentary going on. Anyways, carry on.....

Spotted this the other day:

Mostly animals. Have had coyotes and rabbits run across paths in front of me and have almost flattened Canada geese, Hungarian partridge, rabbits, ducks, and dumb humans.

reptilezs 04-19-11 07:25 PM

just picked up a husky 1/2 inch wrench and a 5 in1 painters tool

m_yates 04-20-11 09:02 AM

Horse crap on the bike path in two places about a mile apart. In each case, someone had picked up the horse crap and used it as a paperweight for a note that read "Pick up your horse crap."

Saw a headless pigeon sitting upright. Posted about it here and many people said some hawks particularly enjoy bird brains.

Half naked woman (bottom half) who had dropped her pants to relieve herself. She didn't bother walking into the woods, just squatted at the edge of the MUP with feet still on asphalt and backside hanging over grass.

I have found a lot of bicycle wheels. The other day I found $20.
Today I saw this guy, but unfortunately as soon as I saw him my tire rolled over his head.:(

not found, but seen... A guy in his 80s, walking an equally ancient dog, on the MUP. Very safe, off the path, no danger, just a guy and his dog, ... and his Kindle, he was happily reading something while enjoying the day. I had to smile.

This would look a look better with a bite out of it....

Found a wallet with credit cards and drivers license a few years back. Got home and called 411 to get the phone number and I called the owner and told him where I lived so he could come pick it up. He sent the police as he thought it was a setup. The policeman told me someone broke into the guys car and stole the wallet, among other things.

Ride safe,

Jeff

I saw a guy doing that in Sacramento (Roseville), CA a while back on a bicycle trail. He was looking for his imaginary pet tiger.

It's all fun and games until that not-so-imaginary tiger jumps out of the bushes and eats your face.

Not on my commute, but yesterday on my way home at the tail end of my ride there was this rather large gentleman who looked developmentally disabled doing pelvic thrusts at the cars and a little booty dance as he crossed the various crosswalks.

True, but I had already eaten lunch.

That outcome hadn't occurred to me, but it makes me glad that I took the wallet I found to the police station.
