Why is it

Why is it we can get a sticky for a thread on what you found on your commute today as soon as it is asked for but we could not get a commute trade thread sticky?

What is a "commute trade thread?" I'm guessing we trade commutes with other people.

There is the pay-it forward sticky but that's not very active.

Probably should now call it 30 year old clunker... time marches on.

Stickys are kinda meh ...if it's a popular thread, you don't need it.

A marketplace type thread is a little different though. I swear I've seen one on the forum and I agree some threads are worthy of a permanent spot... rules or pictures and so on.

I guess that's why it was denied. It was denied?

20 year old clunker can go...

OP - I guess try using the "pay it forward" thread.

As for the 20 year old clunker thread. I never understood why it was a sticky, anyway. "oooooo - look! People ride old bikes to work." Yea, that's an original idea.

Will trade commute for teleportation.

EDIT:

On a serious note, though, the first thread I read before starting commuting was the 20 year old clunker thread. It help reaffirm my belief that I didn't really need to worry about gear at first, but just start riding.

I think that some times the specific subforums on BF can be intimidating because we specialists have Gear Acquisition Syndrome.

Plus, why not just use the general trade forum for trading? If all the specialist trade forums and stickies didn't exist, where would you go?
