I am very close to the size you are. I have a jumbo Cannondale 63.5 cm T2 touring frame,. I built mine from new frame. The T1-T2 & CX cross are the same specs except fork. In short this is a tall frame with a short toptube & long wheelbase . So you sit a bit more upright yet the long wheelbase gives a smooth & very stable ride. I got the T2 do to the color & steel fork with eyelets & lower fork braze ons . Got frame in 08 for $600 could have got whole bike for $1350.

the giant rapid XL is a very large bike i'm 6'3" and mine was practically too big for me. it's got the sloping top tube so ignore the c-t seatube measurement and ride one to really get a feel for it. The base model is about $500 and you can fit larger cyclocross tires on it if you want to take it somewhat offroad and there are rack and fender mounting positions.

Most likely, yes. It was a blue Sekai 2400 that should make a nice ride for someone taller than myself.

Good luck with the Schwinn! I had my 6 month old son with me when I dropped the Sekai off, so I didn't have much time to look around the shop.

K guys. here's an update. I looked at a lot of things to upgrade this bike. I also learned that even on E-bay, bike parts are EXPENSIVE!!! but I'm diligently looking for a set of aluminum wheels to replace the steel ones that came with the Schwinn. I did buy some lizard skins 2.5 orange bar tape online. The bike was red, but has faded to orange. (it's actually really cool looking) I'm gunna dig through the shop tomorrow in search of aero brakes for my big hands, and I still plan on installing bar ends and will buy some new tires. Got pics, just have to figure out how to load them.

Bikes: A few ;)

Photobucket account is easy for loading pics. Free too! If you have an android phone the app makes uploading from your phone simple.

I plan on going to FMCBW tonite to find/donate parts. If I see ya I'll be sure to say hi.
