Two Thumbs Up!
So... I'm leaving work the other day (I work at a hospital on a local University campus), and I just happen to glance up to see three young college girls coming the other way. The middle girl of the trio, with platinum blonde hair and cover girl looks, gives me a big two-thumbs-up and yells out, "YEAH!" Her comrades giggled in that nonsensical "omigodwhataloser" way that seems to be reserved for 19-year-old girls who are convinced that they're at the top of the food chain. I smiled as I passed, and gave them a double blast from my Airzound to validate my Fredliness, setting in motion another round of delighted yelps and chuckles.
I'm just glad that I could make someone's day by the simple act of commuting by bicycle.

LOL! Yeah, there's something to being a full-on Fred in a college town.
I get my fair share of quizzical looks and other affirmations of my Fredliness from the U of U cycling team as they head out for their training rides several times a week. They come down from the U at about the same time I am heading home, and we typically stand stopped at opposite sides of the same traffic signal, with them headed West and me headed East.
Stand tall, fellow Fred!!!!
