Where/how do you have your PB rear flasher mounted?

My rear rack is too high for it to be visibly mounted on the seatpost. There's no adequate spot on the rack to mount it without a creative hardware solution. I had it on my pannier, but it's the sort that has a pull over rain cover, which obscures the light when it's the most necessary. I usually just clip it to the waist of my pants, but that's a pretty inelegant solution.

I've seen some people have them strapped to their helmets, but I can't figure out how. Any ideas?

+1 on the PB mount kit, it's well worth the $5. I had to fabricate a bracket to attach it to an old Blackburn rack with no rear mounting plate, I just used a piece of scrap steel folded over the rear of the rack.

I have a Cannondale rack on my tandem and it has a horizontal plate in the rear. I use the built-in clip and a tiny bungee to keep it from bouncing off.

The PB after market clip its the easiest solution. Pretty cheesy that PB doesn't include this item in the package with the light. I haven't had one bike where light would clamp in a manner that would not result in losing the light in the middle of the road at about 4:15 a.m. seems like the seat stays on my bikes were not large enough diameter to work with the supplied item without a bunch of shims and another length screw so I bought the clip but next time I need to I'm going to make one.

I have a Zefal rack. I used to have it attached to the bracket with a couple zip ties, but those broke in quick succession after 1000 miles and sent my light clattering on the pavement. It started acting up after that and I had to get a new one. Maybe a hose clamp would be sturdier? (PB is out of stock of those after market mounts).

My Superflash is mounted right at the end of the seat tube below the clamp.

Do you have a reflector mount on your rack?

Short length of 3/4 PVC. Cut one end at a slight angle. Fender washer. Long screw. Locking nut. Attach that to the reflector mount on your rack.

Strap the seatpost clamp on to that.

My rack has a flat "deck". I drilled a couple of holes into it, then bent a used rack mounting strut into something I could use to attach the PBSF to the rack. It's worked fine.

Dunno how much it would cost to ship to the States, or if you could source it somewhere locally, but if PB is out of stock on the mounts then they are available from MEC (Canada's REI). I have used both the spare bracket kit and the rack bracket. For $3 and $2 respectively you can't beat the price. I recently moved the mount on my wife's bike from her seatpost to the left seatstay to make room for a tag-along hitch. She rides a "commuterized" FS MTB and the seatstays are too fat for the little bracket, but too thin for the seatpost bracket. I had some leftover material from a grip that I cut to fit a grip-shifted bike, and it made the perfect MacGyver gasket to fit inside the seatpost bracket.

In a pinch, I just use electrical tape to mount PB-like lights like my Radbot 1000, ghetto, but it works. You can mount it to a lot of stuff in very creative ways. Tape is cheap so that's what I do to mount it to my backpack. I trust doubled wrapped electrical tape over the cheap-o mounting brackets that usually comes with these lights.

The PB rack mount attached to my rack works well for me. I used to have it on my seatpost but the light would be obscured by anything strapped to the top of the rack.

clip it to the back of your helmet. that's what I do with one

I have mine PC-7ed (epoxied) to my Planet Bike fender. Been there for almost three years now, no issues.

I'm fond of using metal strapping to make custom mounts

I have threaded a velcro strap used to hold a pair of skis together through the helmet vent holes and just clipped the light to the strap.

I did the same thing. My Radbot is mounted on a seat stay.

Looks like a good, versatile option.
