I actually saw TWO other cyclists on the road today that both appeared to be commuting. That's only the second time EVER that I've seen two other commuters on the road in one ride (in 5 years of commuting daily).

For some of us every day is bike to work day and we wouldn't have it any other way. I'm really looking forward to the Bike To Work Day Celebration on 20th. Last year we had fun... working in downtown Lou-evil has it's advantages.

We are having a month long challenge going on here. It has been fun so far with tons of events going on all over the city. I am participating in the challenge and actually in the top 5 of the standings after the first week totals were posted. I love getting credit and possibly a prize just for doing something I love to do anyways. Betwen the challenge and the great weather we have been having has made biking this month that much better. https://www.bmorebikemonth.com/details/

I'm aiming to bike to work every day this week and next. So far I've only had to abandon one ride (due to puncture).

I didn't realize that today was bike to work day, but I had a good ride in to work anyway! I am half-way to my goal of conserving one tank of gasoline during the month of May, and I feel great as a result of my increased cycle commuting!

Our bike to work day (Sacramento, CA) isn't until the 19th. I didn't have work today, but I did have school. Unfortunately I didn't leave myself enough time to study for the final and ride to school, so I drove. At least I took the motorcycle, 70mpg is better than 30mpg. I still feel guilty though.

Out local BTW day is in June. Usually the city puts on something, like a cermonial group ride through downtown and a little brownbag breakfast outside of city hall if you come by on a bike. My regular bike commute does not take me anywhere near downtown but I plan to go into work late that day to ride downtown and show some support for their efforts. My job is supportive of my bike commuting (even if no one else there rides) and is ok with me showing up late that day.

Didnt even realize that was today. I did ride even after my little fall yesterday that got me three staples in my ankle.
Today was also the first full day of the new three foot law in GA. It got signed into law yesterday at about 4:30pm. Now when somebody gets run over the State cane get some extra fine money.

Bike to Work Week is next week here, but I am working a table tomorrow during lunch time at our local square downtown, promoting using your bike for transportation as well as answering people's questions. It should be pretty fun. I am bringing my bike to show people what an "out-of-the-box" commuter bike looks like.
Funky, I love that sign. Where did you get it?

I have a love/hate relationship with Bike-to-Work Day. I love the fact that so many people participate. I absolutely hate the fact that the vast majority of them think that they only have to participate one day a year I also hate the fact that DRCOG gives out prizes for the longest commute, has a drawing for first time commuters and completely ignores...as does my company...long term year 'round bicycle commuters
Annual Bike-to-Work Day rant over.
