Do you mean is it possible to be both mad AND mad? The philosophical ramifications of this question are staggering. But, then again, Buffalo Bob was... at times.

Riding a bike while wearing a fast food uniform top is rarely a job pre-requisite and the lady behaved foolishly. In university I managed a gift shop and had to call the police twice one summer because a couple of workers were followed (and in one girl's case, stalked and assaulted) by a couple of random idiots. One worker, while wearing the uniform tshirt, sat down in the subway on the way to work and was accused of taking the seat from a guy who saw it from across the subway car. The guy followed the worker to the gift shop, yelling rude names and insults at him, all the way into the store. He demanded I fire the worker for theft of his seat. I called the police when he refused to leave. The girl's situation was far worse and I won't get into it but, again, it was sparked because she wore her uniform tshirt to work. In both cases, the workers did swear at their harassers after being insulted and harassed but I don't blame them in the least.
Agreed, if anyone follows someone home or to work or the store or wherever they're going to harass them over some slight real or imagined the first thing that needs to be done is to call the police. I also agree that an employer has or should have a greater obligation to their employees over that of a either a customer or potential customer.

Granted I think that we all pretty much agree that the OP's reaction wasn't the best, but as a knee jerk reaction to being yelled at by a stranger it is understandable.

How does a person seeing a seat from across the car make it "their" seat? What happened to him?

I hope that the gal is okay.

Granted what the OP did was wrong (the cussing out part), and yes he admitted to working for McDonald's. But given that as we know one can buy a McDonald's shirt at Goodwill or the Salvation Army how was the woman to know that he worked for McDonald's? She was wrong to follow him to where he worked and start yelling at his boss. And she compounded that by trying to say that he had attempted to steal her purse when the manager told her that she wasn't interested in something that happened off of the clock and off of company property.

Don't forget that when said boss showed no interest she tried to tell the boss that the OP tried to steal her nonexistent purse.

Is there a threshold for the amount of self righteousness, indignation, ignorance and speculation stated as fact because it bolsters a persons argument that makes a thread implode on its self?

If I ever catch myself starting a statement that basically implies "If that would have been me I would have. . . . ." I stop immediately. Because it wasn't me, I wasn't there and therefore cannot possibly understand the dynamics and nuances of the situation that provoked the actions and decisions made spur of the moment. Therefor my opinion on the matter is worthless. People that do this have the luxury of hindsight, speculation and the ability to forget in a flash of judgement that they have ever done anything stupid or wrong in their life.

The OP is most likely young given the circumstances (speculation on my part), and for me to think that I would not have over reacted in response to someone clearly over reacting towards me, I would be fooling myself. I'm not saying I would have done the same, but to suspect that I am in a position to look down on him because "I would have never done that" is ridiculous. Because the truth is, on the wrong day, in the wrong place, in the wrong mood and not interested in dealing with some random kooks BS, I very well may have.

This thread is full of fail, and I am reminded why I don't bother clicking on anything that doesn't involve specific bike parts or information.

Negative, wrong, incorrect. Getting involved in pointless debates like this is like trying to cut your arm off with a plastic butter knife, its as painful as it is pointless. Which was the point of my post. You wont be seeing me on this thread again, so there is no need to formulate an antagonistic response.

nly, I know your reading this because human nature is drawn to train wrecks. This thread stopped being a debate many moons ago. Now it's just plain sillyness. Nothing wrong with that once in a while. Since you've drawn a total of 9 posts so far, may I suggest you stay away from A & S. You won't have any arms left.....
