Did that when I lived in Dallas; I'd drive somewhere, come back and decide to visit a friend on the other end of the complex, so I'd park there and walk home after. A few days of bike/bus/train commuting, and by the next weekend I'd have to wander all over the ~600 unit complex to figure out where I'd parked last.

Your co-workers think you're crazy and your friends know you are.

You spend an hour contemplating how to bungee your guitar, mandolin and electric bass to your bike while carrying your amp and effects rack in your trailer.

You go back to 'that spot' on your commute w/a push broom after your ride home.

You carry a plastic garden spade and re-cycled TP on all your bikes just in case.

You wave to roadies even though they never wave back.

After 2 weeks your new gf says she's not comfortable w/you cycling in urban traffic everyday. You respond, "Well, I'm sure we're not too deep into this to where I couldn't find someone who would be fine with it.' We're married now, so I think we made the adjustment.

It's raining sideways , you can barely see, you've been soaked for 25 mins, an annoying little fleck of water keeps dripping in front of your eyes off your helmet, you almost fell in that puddle back there because the pavement dropped off, a bolt of lightning struck about 200 feet away scaring the **** out of you and you're LAUGHING because this is SO insane.

Revive this thread again when winter comes.

When the air in your bike tires are better maintain than your car.

(yeah, yesterday I had to get a smog check on my car for registration, the Smog II technichian had to pump air back into my car tires so the tires will rest on the Dyno properly.)

I've done that! Also, one 105° day, I forgot to pack shorts & had to ride home in jeans; still enjoyed the ride.

My commute route is a mix of urban & rural, riding out of one town, through another, to the fringes of a third.

You know you are a hard core commuter when you have classified at least four distinct stages of road kill decomposition. And when you remember, several months later, what type of animal was responsible for that stain on the road.

I do something similar. I don't forget my way around, but I'll start driving the same way I ride and forget that I have to take the MUP and can't in a car and have to turn around or go a longer way than I should have had to.

I asked my friend thats a mechanic. He said the 3 month rule is a scam and oil sitting in a motor is no different than the oil sitting on a shelf in a warehouse. I don't know if it's true or not, but I didn't drive my car for 2 years once and got tired of changing the oil. I just changed it before I drove it again. People buy motors from junk yards all the time and there's no way those get oil changes.
