Quick Question for Brooklyn NY Commuters

I need to go to Prospect Park tonight, never been there,

Can I take the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn?

I've only ever ridden across the Brooklyn Bridge once.

Sorry for a dumb question.

I need to go to 1st Street & 8th Ave. in PP for a catering thing.

You live in Queens right?
Or are you going into brooklyn from manhattan? If so, I recommend the brooklyn bridge, it's faster.

If you take the manhattan bridge, it's easy, just ride over the right side, keep going straight when you get off (should be down jay street) for 3-4 blocks until you get to the huge intersection where NY tech college is, make a left until you get to flatbush, make a right to go down flatbush, go down that until you get to 4th or 5th avenue and make a right to get on that, keep biking down until you get to 3rd street and go up that till 8th ave.
Don't take 1st, I think 2 sections of that are under construction and it's completely torn up for 2 blocks.

Are you planning to do the memorial ride tonight @ 6? If so we can ride back together, I live in Park Slope, right around where you are going... PM me if you want.
Otherwise, Slvoid's directions are good (take 5th Avenue... 4th is like a madhouse). I prefer the BB myself, once you exit in Brooklyn, keep going straight past the intersection with Atlantic and make the next left (Dean I think) all the way to 5th Avenue. I think the work on 1st St is completed so you may be OK...

Ahhh no, I wussed out. Went back to my mtb. There's a couple sections where it gets real hairy for 700x23c's. Plus I'm 5 min faster on the mtb than the litespeed.
