My new ride!

My new Giant Escape 2. I know it's not much, but its mine and I love how it rides so far. Going for an 8 or so mile ride today with a buddy.

I appreciate the help i've received on this site as a whole so far, glad to be on a new and solid ride.

You shouldn't say: "it is not much".

I am happy for you that you have a bicycle that you are enjoying.

Glad to see you listened to the input from your LBS and those on this forum. That Escape is better suited to your needs than the Boulder you were considering.

Nice bike! Now go put some flashy fenders on that things, so you can ride in the rain : D

Nice bike! Perfect commuter.
+1 on the fenders, unless you live in Arizona or something.

I plan on fenders, rach, and trunk bag. I also have an idea to mount my android on my handle bars to use mapmyride. I'll take pictures of that if it happens. This bike broke the bank for me so I have to recoupe.

Story of my ride in the "How was your commute?" thread.

I don't plan on commuting where I live now but I plan to move to a midwest town be it Denver, St. Louis, Chicago, Boise, or (HOPEFULLY!) Minneapolis where I will commute daily. I will add fenders at that point. I do on the other hand need at the least a rack and trunk bag.

Thanks guys, I am hoping to complete a 25 mile ride by the end of the year or sooner. I would be overjoyed if that were to happen. Going for 8 miles tomorrow I believe. I wish my town had more bike infrastructure. I have to drive like 3 or so miles to get to the old railroad turned bike path. It IS 40 miles long though; flat, narrow, smooth, perfect for riding 2 abreast until oncoming bikes are seen. No motor vehicles of any sort allowed. It just needs to connect throughout the town! It's such a great start.
