In search of a new rack trunk
#26
I looked at my Axiom trunk and it has velcro (so you can avoid that one). But, I think it's possible take a couple of flat bars of metal and drill holes in them then bolt them into place. I think the Axiom is a little cool though because it has a silver lining inside to keep food cool.

I've thought about the Tailrider, but the wife would absolutely go ballistic if I spent that kind of $$$. I'm kicking myself for not getting one of the Axiom variants of the Tailrider when I had the chance.

You must be referring to the Tailrider Expedition that has the waterproof, deployable side panniers that can be removed? Yep, seen it.
Upon further reflection, I don't need a huge trunk- I'll just fill it with more junk that'll adversely affect the riding dynamics. A large seat wedge should handle everything but the safety glasses/goggles, and I think a top tube/bento box or stem mounted bag should take care of those.
