Thinking about getting my dad one for Christmas as his bike of 15 years just got stolen. Anybody have one? Outside of REI reviews, can't find much info on-line.

That's a nice bike at a nice price esp on sale, I'd get it for him. The reviews are by actual owners, REI doesn't edit them, lots of bad products get slagged. If that bike had issue there would be at least one bad review.
