Commute gets in the way...
... of exercise!

It seems (according to an online poll commissioned by the Heart and Stroke Foundation) that Canadians have no time for healthy living.
Among reasons cited were, time needed to commute and watch TV.
Is it wrong to feel smug about this?

And I don't feel smug about it, I feel sad about it. Sad that my fellow citizens (Canada is, what, the 51st state?
) are so incredibly stupid.

I wouldn't feel smug. I'd feel the urgency in creating a good example for your fellow citizens.
You know if you could become enough of a "shining beacon" for someone and they become bicycle commuters... well... the trickle-down effect would solve this problem.
Don't feel smug... just get out and do it.

I've also written 44 columns in my city's newspaper (and other periodicals) about my committing over the last 4 years.
Does that rate as a "shining beacon"?
