I got a flat half way through my ride and turned around because the FRIKIN CO canisters I had for my airsoft gun did not work with my filler tool. I am pretty pissed about this- but it wont happen again. You can count on that!

Beautiful ride. I was lost in thought the whole way back, feeling great, and I remembered to go to the store.

Maybe it's just me since I didn't use the Cherry Creek path a lot last year, but there are a lot of rats. I almost hit one this morning (?!) and another one ran out in front of me tonight. I didn't even think we had rats in Denver.

Left for work this morning about 5-10 minutes earlier than usual but it was all for naught. I caught every single red light on the way and had to stop for two school buses loading kids. Just missed having to stop for another bus. Got to work at my usual time, despite leaving early. Guess I won't do that again.

You should have just dragged your bike and trailer down the side of the mini van and gouged it all up. Then again, it's a mom in a minivan with kids, so the vehicle is probably already trashed.

40sF today. Sun rising as I pedaled. Light tailwind. I didn't see anyone going my way, but I saw a few cyclists heading in the other direction.

4th commute for me. This one went very well. For the first time I used a handle bar mirror, and being able to look behind me really made the ride a lot more relaxed. Before I had the mirror, I would constantly turn my head to look for a car behind me, but with the mirror I can concentrate on just riding and what's in front of me. The weather forecast says 50% chance of rain today, but so far the sky looks pretty clear. Let's see if that changes by the time I have to ride home.

Before I started commuting on bike, I used to cycle at night in a nearby park for 1-2hrs. However, now my legs are getting sore on the ride to work, so I'm going to switch the night time exercise to just a brisk walk until my legs adjust. I did this for the first time last night, and ended up walking roughly 4 miles.

Really nice weather this morning - 55F when I left home, sunny and breezy. Wore long sleeves for the first time; probably overkill. Full-finger gloves and a t-shirt would have been fine. A bit more traffic than usual, but not terrible. I really wish there was a shoulder on the one section of busy road I have to ride (outer Congress for the other Porland Mainers).

Oh, and I got half way to work and realized a heating contractor was coming to the house to evaluate our furnace and make some recommendations. Good thing my wife was still home.

my legs were a little tired this morning because i went on a long ride last night with a friend of mine but i was doing ok...i also wore some new jeans and they were a bit constricting since they fit a little funny, i am going to stick to some more flexible pants
more good weather is on the way so i am stoked for that...

Got off to a late start today when I discovered the cause of my skipping/slipping gears was a 10-tooth cog where my 14-tooth cog used to be. Wonder how I managed to break off four teeth... I had another rear wheel with a cassette mounted so I just put a tire on it. That's fortunate because I've been lazy about getting the rest of my bikes into riding condition.

Ride was great.

Ride in was chilly this morning, but the wierd thing was, where do those "pockets of warm air" come from? In some places, that were just a few bike-lengths long, it was actually hot and humid. Oh-oh. Maybe I am having hot flashes. Is that possible for a dude?

Ride in to work this morning was like any other...except that I was accompanied by a co-worker. This will be his first full day of bike commuting. The virus is spreading!

Woke up early for once... had a nice albeit pitch black commute. Loving the new lights. Legs and throat (had abit of a cold) felt great this morning and i made great time.

Oh and for a couple days now i've been feeling the love. Cager love. Lots of curteous, considerate drivers and not a prick in the bunch... a statistical anomally that will probably rectify itself soon but it's nice in the mean time.

The sun was blood red as it rose above the horizon, and it made for a spectacular ride in. Rather it would have, but my wife and I didn't get much sleep last night [and not in a good way]. We lumbered along at a snail's pace, yawning. Bleah.

Yesterday I mentioned the headwind in the morning and how I hoped it was still pointing the same way at 5:30... and it was. Whee, that was fun!

This morning I got to the second traffic light on my ride (16th and Castle) and there was a huge backup with a cop directing traffic. I normally go straight at that light, as 16th Street is not sane for bikes. But he had it closed down and I asked if I could turn right anyway. He waved me through so I got to do a mile on a street I've never ridden. Didn't affect my distance, and added a minute or two to my time, but hey, novelty's good.

Drove today, for about the only reason I ever do, to bring the car in for maintenance/repair. Clouded over last night, which kept it warmish for this morning, but supposed to stay around this temp (50s/60s) until it cools off some more tonight.

Feels like fall. 52F when I left the house at 6:35. Needed the light and blinky for the first portion of the ride, wore long sleeves and knee warmers.

Almost bought it, today. Going 31.7mph downhill on a two lane, someone decided they weren't going to wait for the line, crossed the median while I was coming down the turn, almost head-to-headed me and I got squeezed close to the guardrail...real close. Stay frosty, out there, morning drivers are careless.

Feels like summer again. It was 54F when I left this morning.
Much better than the 40s. Before I know it the morning temps will be dipping below the freezing mark.
Guess I need to order my new winter clothes soon. ugh!

Nice ride that unfortunately ended at work.

Well on my return trip home yesterday I was doing great.. then a bee stung me in the HEAD OUCH!! WTF?

On the North Fork Century, I saw a hornet crawl into my helmet near my eyebrows. About six nanoseconds later, the helmet was off and my Rudy Project sunglasses were skittering along the street ten feet behind me.

Didn't get stung, though.

First time commuting twice in the same week, also fourth day of commuting for me. It was fine up until I decided to take a slightly different route than my last three commutes. I ended up walking my bike on the sidewalk along one of the busiest roads in town. I was a little bit apprehensive of trying to cycle on it, so I ended up walking a good mile and a half. It was not fun, and tonight's return trip will be on the old trusty route that I have been taking. I guess you learn the hard way sometimes.

My new bike had its 4th flat in 6 weeks. This time a short fat screw punctured the Forte ST/K tires (the previous flats were a different tire). The screw head was pretty big so I assumed it punctured the tube and was the only thing holding the air in. It was flat by the time I left work. Maybe if I pulled it right away instead of riding on it, it might not have hit the tube? Would be late for work if wrong.
The good news is I bought the Crank Bros Speed Tire Lever last week and it works GREAT. I used to fight the tires for maybe 20 minutes trying to mount them by hand but this thing had it on in less than a minute. Pretty light too.

First time on the new IRO Mark V in single-speed mode. Not difficult at all, I quite liked it. I do miss having a mirror though, and will probably get a helmet-mounted one. Going to flip the hub to the 42/16 fixed this weekend and build up my skills, and once I'm comfortable with that, I'll try commuting fixed! Fun times.

I STILL wish i had money for a bike to start commuting..... found this on craigslist, not sure if its a scam or not.
