Absolutly wonderfull. I had to drive the cage Monday and Tuesday. So fustration was building. So a 42 deg windless day great sunrise, and light traffice made for a great day
24 degrees, North wind 24 to 30, wind chill of 8 degrees, light snow. The National weather forecast website called it "breezy," haha. Was enjoyable, especially now that I am warming up.

Quarter inch of snow on ground that's right around freezing. Compressed into ice where the cars have run on it. Kept speed around 10-12 mph and no problems riding through fresh snow on the MUP.
Should have a few inches for the ride home, that could be interesting.

Snow had just started coming down as I arrived at work around 6:00 am. I'm in trouble if there's an inch or more this afternoon, I'm still riding on slicks. I need to find a second set of wheels and put some studded tires on them. Other than that, I love riding in snow.
SERENITY NOW!!!

Had a cab cut me off this morning. This happens practically everyday except this time, I was splitting the lane between a bus and a truck when the cab in front of the truck cut me off and tried cutting the bus off. The bus driver wasn't having it so the cab was effectively stopped in the middle of 4 lanes of traffic and holding half of them up.
Also had an SUV try to overtake me in my lane even though I was riding in the middle of the lane. I held my ground and eventually scraped him off a bus when I went lane splitting again. Traffic will only get crazier as Christmas approaches.

Brisk... fall may have finally ended here in Colorado. 32 for the ride in, with slight chance of snow for the ride home. Gonna need to put the studs on the family truckster and ride it if the weather actually turns.
Need to start pushing the studs so I can get that awesome feeling when the light/fast bike comes out in the springtime :-)

Brrr cold this morning, 36F. No wind though, thank goodness. 40% chance of rain this afternoon on my way home. That should be fun.

Bit colder today, was going to try another layer anyway, added another fleece sweater thing - 14F/-10C and felt OK, though I could still feel cool air around my chest just starting out.
Bit hairy in places as I had to take my roadie, did the walk/ride of shame on the subway last night due to my MTB back wheel getting bent out of shape from spoke breakages over time (I ought to learn how to fix wheels) - checked the road bike last night and the front tyre was flat.. doh. Put the pump on it and immediately noticed the valve stem leaking air when pushed at certain angles, so tube=gone, replaced it this morning due to a late arrival last night. Roadie was fine, few places of ice sheets with snowy surface, it held up and I didn't go down but I didn't like it one bit. Still, all is well now.
Have to work late tonight with potential to having to lock outside for a few hours, so I brought both locks this time.

'Twas about as cold as yesterday, which basically means about -16C. Not bad - my hands were pretty good, but the bridge of my nose got cold.

pineapple express fading away, down to ~40F this am. Still supposed to push toward 50 later so I went w/ shorts and a t-shirt again. No standing water. I noticed, w/ the freeway blocked both south and west of here, there was like no traffic on it going home last night.
My first day!
About 60F and slightly foggy. Massive waves pounding on the coast right now washed out the path in several areas (and left huge piles of trash behind) but a few detours made up the time I lost.
About 13 miles and a little under 90 minutes. Hope to get it down as I go, but I enjoy the leisurely pace and great views.

brrrrrrrrr...getting colder, fingerless gloves and no knit cap under the helmet did not make for a comfy commute this morning, but super genius that I am I used them anyway. By the time the sun came up and I reached the up hill section of the ride my fingers were numb and ears were stinging, things warmed up quickly after that. I have been carrying my cap and full finger gloves in my bag for 6 weeks, why did I take them out?!? Snow in the forecast tomorrow late, maybe winter will come to Colorado Springs after all.

Back from 2 days off, spent in D.C. Saw some dudes with bicycles on the Metro (rail). Thumbs up to you.
Didn't ride today. I hiked 2.5 miles to the bus instead. Needed to check out the MUP. It's snowy but I think I might be able to handle it tomorrow. I'll see if I feel like dealing with it tomorrow morning. I really wish the city would plow the $(@*%)! thing.

I never got that when I searched. But then I just searched "Nokian studded tires".
My wife is picking up my Nokian 294's tonight for me. The ride in was interesting. Some side roads I ride weren't plowed yet
. I do not have the right tires on for snow!!Thank God for the new bar mount mirror I bought yesterday and fenders.

Fabulous day in S. FLa today !
About 60 degrees.....I love arriving at work and not needing to bird bath !
I had to wait at the lite on Northlake for about 4 minutes of its 5 minute red
cycle but I do cross when the roads are finally clear....a Fla. Transit bus
driver starts beeping its horn at me and Im thinking Im gonna get the finger
'cuz I jumped the lite but instead she is smiling and waving !! Wow...Im shocked !
Of course I return the gesture. Further down on Old Dixie, or crackhead row, I
hear the train and the gates are starting to come down...I sprint from the wrong
side of the tracks, through the closing gates to the right side of the tracks
just in the nick '0 time
The train must have been about a mile and half long
because it ended when I got to work !! I love days like this !!

First Tracks!
Two long black ribbons on the road followed me home and everything was dreamlight light, as the lights reflected off the snow.

Snowing on the way in today- looked like about 3 bikers had gone my way before me, per the tracks on the MUP. Conditions got worse during the day and I didn't want to risk the ride home, so I took the bus.

Hi CMY. Welcome, and glad you enjoyed the ride.
Severe thunderstorm warning in Sydney this morning; it wasn't raining when I left, but I could see a monstous black could hovering over the north of the city - my destination!
Sure enough as I reached the Harbour Bridge it started raining extremely hard, massive thunderclaps, lightening etc. Very cool. Got very very wet though.
Saw several people cycling along in head to toe waterproofs. Gees, that's got to be hot and sweaty. The temperature was probably 20C (68F), so although wet I was perfectly comfortable in my cycling shorts and short-sleeved jersey.

SLicks + snow=no fun. OK, a little fun. NO front brake though.
still on the roads the last few days because the bike path was only plowed in portions.
I've got the studs on but I'm pushing along on the road and making okay time. But I'm looking forward to giving it a shot on the bike path again.
Late night ride home tonight. A lil' icey but the tires rolled right over it.
